What's missing from WS countries?

On the Disney Restaurants thread llqool lamented the lack of scones in the UK area of World Showcase.

It got me wondering whether there were any DISers from WS countries out there who feel there is something missing from the representation of their homelands, and if so what?

I certainly agree with llqool that there is a lack of cream teas in the UK. (And Florida isn't exactly representative of the UK climate either :teeth: )

Italy needs a cannoli stand!!!!
I think there is one. Dave gets one from "Rocco" in the planing video.

That said I always thought it odd that the McDonalds stand is in Canada. Shouldn't that be in America?

The Chinese dishes served at Nine Dragons are totally American. I'd like to see something more authentic.

I've always wondered why they don't serve Pizza in Italy. It makes a mess, the line would be too long.

It would just be such a fit.

Is that McDonalds stand technically in the Canadian pavilion? Maybe it is, I guess I never thought about it. I always just thought it was kind of a stand-alone thing. :confused3

But regardless, it probably would best be suited in the American pavilion - although I think what's more uniquely American (and more creative) would be a great BBQ shack. THAT would be cool.

I would like to see a stand in the UK where I can order some chips drenched in malt vineger.

I'd also like to see a gelato stand somewhere in Italy.

Perhaps there could be a water fountain somewhere in Mexico, with a sign warning guests not to drink the water. How's that for authentic!

McDonald's is pretty universal. Don't they have them in Antartica, Outer Mongolia and Mars now?

America needs a lot more of everything...is the best we can show our international guests a fast-food hamburger stand?!

OK, I'm US born and mostly bred, but based on my travels the UK needs a snack store that sells Magnum ice cream bars. There are days I could kill for some of those things. Anybody know of anywhere that sells them?

While we're at it, Aussies, anyone know if you can get Cascade products in the US? I could use a ginger beer with some bite.

Yeah, I know, but it is American not Canadian

I am 99% sure that Italy has a cart that has canolis, other pastries, and various coffee drinks. And, if I'm wrong, they darn well should!

no, but it's the most accurate!

They could show more of America with Hummers and Harley-Davidsons sitting outside

I'd like to see more diversity in the countries in general- there are 3 from North America, 4 from Europe... but none from South America, and only one Africa!

Food-wise, I'm sad that America only has the counter service place! I wish they would expand the pavilion more- in Italy, for example, you have a representation of Venice, Rome, Tuscany, and Florence, all in the one pavilion. For the US, you really only have the representation of Colonial times.

What are Magnum Ice Cream Bars?

how about Ireland? i'd love to see them add that in there somewhere ;P

doubt they'd be able to fit it tho. and i don't want to hear about "oh they opened up that pub"......yes....that doesn't make up for it one bit tho.

at least they have the UK and Italy.

You can get a cannoli at the coffee stand in Italy. There are other desserts and drinks there as well.

There is a cart that sells gelato. Pistachio, vanilla and chocolate. It's right next to the coffee stand.

Well WS is missing my family's whole country...Spain! :p If Disney ever adds Spain to the World Showcase, I'll tell you what they're missing. ;)

ETA: WDW Poly Princess, I agree with you about the counter service in America. I wish there was at least one table service restaurant in America since all the other countries have one. Does anyone know why America doesn't have one? :)

I would imagine that since America has an entire park (MK) they don't need quite as much representation in WS. There's only 2 Americans in IASW too, LOL!
