What's missing from WS countries?

Mexico - they need more street snacks, like the fruit cocktails they chop up fresh for you, or the "aguas frescas," fruit-flavored water served in bags with straws (so fun!). A Mexican bakery/panaderia might not be a bad idea, either.

Germany - make "Sommerfest" into more of a "Schnell-Imbiss"-style counter service restaurant, with lots of selections of quick, cheap wurst. Yum...

An aside on the Magnum bars - I think I ate my fair share of these while living in Mexico. They were quite delicious; I liked the one with the almonds. (At least I think that's where I ate them; I do remember buying them at the zoo and convenience stores there - or am I getting this confused with another country?)

Norway really needs some Norweigan baking! They just have Danish stuff in the cafe! I was so disappointed :sad2: I was so looking forward to the Norweigan cafe I really needed to stock up on my skillingsboller (pronounced shillingsboller) intake in between trips to Norway!

America needs a lot more of everything...is the best we can show our international guests a fast-food hamburger stand?!

I've always thought the same thing!
What about some of our regional dishes? Southern BBQ, New England Clambake, NY Pizza, Philly Cheesesteaks, Gumbo? :confused3

What are Magnum Ice Cream Bars?

Rich, creamy ice cream dipped in a hard chocolate shell. Same concept as a Mickey bar, but soooooo good, and comes in many varieties. I adore the mint ice cream covered with a dark chocolate shell with crunchy bits (of mint?) in it. There are many brands of ice cream with the same dipped shell concept, but Magnum is amazingly good.

Agreed! And why is it, according to the offerings at the American pavilion, America is synonymous with cheap, bad beer?? :confused3 Let's see some amazing US wine varietals, and while we're at it, how about our classic liqours: nothing says America like Jack Daniels, Wild Turkey and Southern Comfort! :drinking1

As for TS, I've long though they should incorporate something to showcase the cuisines for which US chefs are known, maybe Floribbean, CA fusion, etc.

I think WS is basically missing some good Indian cuisine, what I wouldn't give for a chicken tikka masala or a lamb passanda!

because Pizza is much more of an American thing...you don't really find it in Italy. And the pizza on property (like that at Pizza Planet) is sub-par.

I spent a month on holiday in Italy a few years back, and there really wasnt nearly as much pizza there as I thought there would be. When I did find pizza, it was generally in places that catered to Americans, and the pizza was a bit different than it is here. Having said that, I suppose I can see how pizza isnt a big deal in Italy, considering (as others have mentioned) that anywhere else in WDW, you cant turn around without running into a pizza.

Mmmm....lobster rolls and clam chowdah...then I would stop and actually eat at the American Pavilion

Canada is definatly missing something...It is a pretty boring representation of what Canada is

Poutine, Ketchup Chips, and Canada Dry Gingerale in Canada

an imbiss stand in Germany would be great...and the France WS smells way to clean to be anywhere close to approximating Paris....although I do like the wine store.

I'm not from Norway. If I were I would say bring back Ringnes beer.
I'm not from France. If I were I would say bring back Bubbles Nicholas. It doesn't get much more French than an outrageous Mime.
I'm not from America, wait a minute I am. I would go along with PrincessV. A nice sip of Jack Daniels in the evening looking out over WS would be great.

I COMPLETELY agree. I wrote a thread about this a week or two ago.

What are Magnum Ice Cream Bars?

Think Klondike bars but sooo much better. Super creamy ice cream, and there are several kinds of coverings - milk choc, dark choc, almond, crunch...I'm drooling now! A Magnum would put me :cloud9:

ETA - OK, OK now I see that others before me have solved the mystery. Still drooling, though...

I guess the only country I can speak intelligently about is the U.S., since that's where I'm from and I've only visited 3 other countries, so far (although I am in the early planning stages for a trip to Romania.)

However, that being said, I have been to Ireland and I got to thinking, what did I see there that was different from the U.S.? The first thing that jumped to my mind was the selection of chocolate bars and sweets. And since every country tends to have its own variation of candy, perhaps each of the countries could have a small candy shop with things native to that country.

Oh, and I do think they should add Ireland :) (and please, nobody post something stating that they have the U.K. already, I don't mean the U.K., I mean the Republic of Ireland.)

here is a thought, since i just returned.
for american pavillion:
how about a new york style deli
seattle market coffee's
philly cheseteaks
buffalo wings
bbq (both carolina and texas)
and a selection of american candy at a stand, hershey or the other brands?

for another country to add in, how about
Russia or Egypt????
