We had an awesome time in the World last Sept and we're already planning trip #2. We're thinking the Wed after Thanksgiving (11/28/07 - 12/2/07). Does anyone know what the crowds are like? I want to see all the Christmas decorations! Let me know!

We went for Thanksgiving week this past year and as usual for that week it was very crowded. I've since spoken to many DISers who said the crowds were fair the week after. We booked 11/25 - 12/6, the way I feel about it is there really isn't a time that's going to be really low crowds, especially during the holiday season. The holiday decorations are so worth seeing, even if the parks are a little crowded. You'll love it!!!!:thumbsup2

They usually have the Christmas Day parade taping at the MK then and you will also experience the POP Warner football and cheerleading championship where all the kids stay and compete onsite. They hit the parks mostly after lunch. Someone posted a link today(Resort Boards ) in reference to an article in the Boston Globe on this issue. They contracted to hold the competitions there and must stay onsite and buy park tickets. The contract is supposedly through 2010. Just search the boards for Pop Warner and you will see what people are experiencing.

HI Mag,
The week of thanksgiving and the week after thanksgiving starts to pick up... we went once and it wasnt that bad (heavy crowds at times) but I know of another family that went and they said that it was crazy... it was thier first trip down there and I just dont think it was the right time for them to go... If u have a better idea of the parks and things to do, its fine but I dont recommend going at a time when it could be crazy and not knowing what to do.

We went for the week after (11/25-12/4) it was great during the week even though it was 85 degrees. By the end that second weekend was crowded like you wouldn't beleive. Pop Warner started around that friday I guess to have a weekend in the park. They also taped the xmas day parade on the 1st and 2nd. We stayed at POR we enjoyed it but again by the end of the week Pop Warner was coming (they even had a whole secition of the checkin desk just for Pop. It really wasn't that bad because by that time we did all of the rides so the parks we went to we just enjoyed the shows, decorations and shopping. I would do it again just be prepared for hot weather as well as cold.

We just stayed 11/28-11/30, and the crowds weren't bad at all during that time. Lines were pretty much non-existent for most rides (other than the really popular ones, like at Epcot, Test Track and Soarin'). I had a really good time and got around to all of the hotels to see their decorations. Make sure you don't miss the Contemporary.............we stayed there this time not expecting anything special from the Food Network special, but they had the neatest display IMO. It was of Pinnochio and Geppedo. Very cool! Also, this year the Poly didn't have a display apparently, so I was a little diappointed, and the Boardwalk's had changed as well. Just don't go expecting to see certain things and you won't be disappointed! :thumbsup2
