What's in a title anyway? How about 1300 pictures? 4/15/11-> Bonus Section pt1 & 2

Great update!! I love that the boys got to meet the Toy Story Characters!
We loved Thunder Mountain as well and we rode it 2 times!
You got some great shots of the Gingerbread house at Grand Floridian :thumbsup2

I also had to drag my family onto the peoplemover and once they were on it they realized how much they could see and how beautiful the park looks!

Hey, there has to be somebody on the trip that can guide the others along and know what they're doing!

I hear ya... about the time it take to do a TR! I've left my own hanging for almost a week now! :scared1: With working full time out of the house and part time in the house in the evenings I'm really finding it hard to keep on top of it plus taking the time to keep up with others!! :surfweb:

Thanks again for taking the time!

Debbie

Did I mention I'm still working on my TR from August? Did I also mention that I had to start a second thread for it because I got locked out of my first one? :lmao:

catching up!

oh how i love your report! i enjoy your writing and of course your pictures are so awesome! popcorn::

the pictures of the boys hugging after kyle gets to stay is so priceless! :lovestruc i just love it!

your battle in the gift shop would have had me laughing! sounds very fun. i think its lovely when adults put pride aside and find their inner child at disney. have some fun! :thumbsup2

i am one who agrees with you about the gingerbread house. i mean its fabulous and i imagine the time to make it is crazy with all the details, but i think it gets too much hype.

we are eating at ohana in september. i am so ready to see the poly. one day i would like to stay there, but for now as long as i get a lapu lapu i will be happy. ;)

great update! bravo! so many cute and great things i shall refrain from making comments on everything to keep this from becoming so long! :rolleyes1

Thank you so much, you're way too kind! As far as the pride goes, that stays at the airport in Philly. I'm there to have fun and I feel bad for so many of the people who worry too much about what ever body thinks of them while at the parks. As long as I'm not bothering anybody, I'll do whatever it takes for my boys to have the time of their lives there!:thumbsup2

With O'hanas here's a tip for you. The Lapu Lapu's are like $12 or $14 each which gets expensive when you have multiple people ordering more than one. You can ask for one without the pineapple and the price is cut to about 1/2! I don't remember the name of it, but your cousin (the servers are all your cousins) will know. BUT if this is the first time going, you need to order at least one Pineapple Drink!

And, don't ever hold back! Comment away!:rotfl: Good, bad, or whatever I'm always open to criticizem! (I already know I can't spell :lmao: )
Awesome update Rob!!! I SO know what you mean by a TR taking up SO MUCH time! That's why I opted not to do one for our Dec trip!

Kuddos to Logan for overcoming his fear and riding Big Thunder. :dance3: That's one of Devon's favorite rides. Matter to fact I think it was the 1st "big" coaster he ever rode on! Now, I have a little thrill seeked on my heads who is up to riding anything. I used to have to bribe him to get on rides... I know I'm terrible! :rotfl2:

You know in ALL the times I been to Disney I have NEVER been on the people Mover!

I have to tell you I totally agree with you, while the Giant Gingerbread House is pretty cool, I'm not that WOW'ed by it either now, maybe it's b/c I've seen it s few times now? Who Know! But it will say I still find it pretty neat that the chimney puffs out smoke that smells like gingerbread... I know I know it's the little things!

Well.....Logan still doesn't like BTM, lets just say I narrow his options when we all get on.:lmao:

The People Mover is so nice and relaxing especially in the middle of the day. From what I hear, there's never a line to get on even in the summer :confused3 I can see that being the best thing in the world around 3pm in the middle of August.

I guess we were there too late to see the smoke come out. That would have boosted my interest a little I'm sure!

You should still do a TR for December. Annnewjerz had a great idea to do a wordless TR! Granted, it would still take a while just posting all of those pics, but it could still be done in a day or 2.....just a thought!

Great update!!
Thank you :goodvibes Took me around 4 hrs to do that believe it or not! I'm wiped out today:laughing:

It is tough keeping the TR going! I feel bad when a week has gone by but life is just plain BUSY sometimes! There's a few reports I have been trying to read (yours included) but I'm probably so far back each one is going to take a full day to get caught up. One more reason to finish this one right :rotfl:

The Toy Story characters were great and it's so nice to just stumble across them sometimes. I'm glad we aren't always on the hunt for them because when they just happen to be there when you are walking by, it makes it a little more special, know what I mean?

Hopefully, I can get the rest of the family on the People Mover in May. I know Logan is all for it but I'm sure everybody else will like it once they try it....especially since it goes over Buzz's Space Ranger Spin :thumbsup2

As far as the Gingerbread House pictures, I'm glad I got a few that weren't too blurry since at the time, I'm pretty sure the whole lobby was spinning :rotfl2: I can see going in and getting some creative shots but I'm not sure if it's time I'd like to spend there. It really is nice but if I'm not going to stay at the GF, I'm not sure that I'd make the special trip again. Of course now that I just found out that the chimney smokes, I'm kind of wanting to see that :lmao:

Loving the pictures! I can't wait for my WDW trip!!!

I hope you stick around.....I may have one or two more that still need to be posted ;)

Did I mention I'm still working on my TR from August? Did I also mention that I had to start a second thread for it because I got locked out of my first one? :lmao:

OMG that's too funny :rotfl2: There's no way I'd be able to do this if I were working anywhere else. Between being a full time Dad during the day with getting Nate to school, and Logan in part time preschool and the hrs I work, I see Tina for MAYBE an hr a day during the week and I average 3 hrs of sleep every night. I literally have no where during the day to sqeeze in updates.....it's brutal!

Can I just say how long it took me to read this update? haha it took me ALL DAAAAYY! lol between classes, work, and errands, I would run to my laptop just to see what was going on! Loved it!

1st off, people mover is a MUST for me everytime i go! I love the views! Peter Pan is my favorite BUT. THE. LINES. are tremendous!!!

Once again, splash i wont do, BTMR i love, and Space was my first! I remember the first time I went, I was 15, and we got my aunt to go on...she almost killed us!

love the memories, love how much yall enjoyed ure trip, and love the moment when i see a new update! thanks! :)

Glad to have you aboard! I'll try to get another update ready soon Day 6 should be easy as there aren't as many pics but than that means we're 1 day closer to being over

You should give splash a try! You figure there's less than 10 seconds of total drops for over 8 minutes of a nice easy going ride......pretty good ratio if you ask me:thumbsup2

Holy update!! I don't even know if I can remember everything I want to say. Love the pictures of your boys and Kyle celebrating that he got to stay with them! You can tell they like each other! That is awesome that Kyle and Nate conquered all of the MK mountains! Those are some brave little boys. I'm glad you finally made it on the People Mover. That is a great place to relax and kick back. Plus you get some great views so it doesn't put you to sleep. Now if sleep is what you're after in Tomorrowland I recommend Carousel of Progress. Glad you had a fabulous dinner. Ohana's is a fun place. And I liked the pictures of the Gingerbread house. I've never actually set foot in the Grand Floridian, but it looks gorgeous in pictures. OK, now get to work on your next update.

I think we will definitely try the People mover in Aug. Totally think it will be a great break from the heat!

A wordless TR I like it! Maybe I will do one! But first I need to upload on my freaking pics to photbucket. And that takes forever!

Use the bulk uploader! Put all the pics in 1 folder then set it and forget it! :thumbsup2

We really had a blast when Kyle was with us. I doubt Nate would have done all 3 mountains if he weren't there. I'm loving all the stuff I've been doing with the camera...not just the things I've learned to do with it, but the fact that I have it on me all the time and I've been able to capture so many memories that may have been forgotten in a year or two. I love getting pictures like that!

COP is going to be the next first for me I think. From what I hear that ride is the one ride in all the parks that can even put Logan to sleep!

The Grand Floridian is nice but I can't see the big draw for the money they want. Maybe there's just something I'm not seeing but I'd never trade the Beach Club for it. Then again, I'm sure there are GF loyals who would say the same about my Beach Club:confused3

I'm uploading more pics as we speak so hopefully soon for the next update!:surfweb:

I saw you have another one up again...saving that for work tonight!

WOW! That was quite an update. No wonder it took you so long.
So, I put my DS12 on the task of figuring out the Jungle Cruise boat name, I'll let you know if he is successful.
When we came off POTC last time there was a CM wanting to duel, but neither of my boys would accept his challenge, so what's a Mom to do, I had to step up! It was a lot of fun and I think my boys were pretty impressed! If we ever happen to be there at the same time, I officially challenge you (but only swords, guns are the cowardly pirates way).
We LOVE People Mover, it's a must do for us, and lucky for us all there are never lines!
We've done the Ohana breakfast which is great, but never the dinner. Maybe next time!

Well heavens to Mergatroy thank God I finally got over here! Between booking my own trip, in June, researching said trip OBSESSIVELY and moving half of a terabyte of stuff to a new 'puter it's a wonder you are still writing this trip report as I type!

If I had to pick my favorite pic so far it would be of the 3 boys filled with joy at being together when you asked if Kyle wanted to stay with you and the boys.

GOOD JOB with the pix :cool1::thumbsup2:banana:

All right, all right! Enough with the hopeless fawning on my part. Now get cracking with that trip report mister! Opening day is right around the corner for the Phillies and we ain't gettin any younger! ;)

I absolutely accept you challenge but I promise nothing when it comes to pistols drawn! Remember, just as Jack said, it comes down to What a man can do, and what a man can't do! ;)
P.S. we even did the scene where he said "This bullet's not meant for you mate" :rotfl2: It was so great. Notice how those Cast Members didn't step up when I was in the room? Uh huh, scared. pirate:

Trust me, Ohana's for diner. You will not be disappointed!!!! Just don't eat to much of the filler carbs stuff in the beginning. OMG, I'm getting hungry at 3:40 in the morning! (there might be some more pics coming up say maybe....Day 7 )

I always stiffen up a little when I see a familiar name from the Photography Boards! I still have so much to learn from all of you guys and I feel like I should have cleaned up the bad ones before you guys come over :lmao: But hey feel free to swing by and start fawning whenever you feel like it :rotfl2: Seriously thanks you for the compliments. I really had a good time on this trip and I can't wait till the next one in just about 70 days  Next trip I will bring the 35 mm 1.8 out. The 18-250 is awesome for what I like to do but for the dark rides, I should have known better....I just got lazy :sad2: As for the updates, I did type up Day 6 tonight so hopefully it will be up by lunchtime :yay:

b/t/w Phills are undefeated as of today! 1-0 in the pre-season! Oh yea, Hamels is pitching against the Yanks on Saturday! Can't wait to see what he brings this year! AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!

OH PLEASE! All of us, meaning trip report people AND Photography board people just love your "keeping it real, here I am, this is the who I am and what I love" style!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Don't underestimate the worth of sharing exactly where you are with your photography. You are at a great place and you're getting better and better. By sharing you are motivating others to see that they can do this too. :goodvibes

I always tell my son that in this world there will always be people that are better than you and people that are not as good as you at some thing. Don't get caught up in comparing, just go along on your own journey and enjoy the ride!

This is what you are doing by sharing your work, alleged 'warts' and all.
We are really grateful for that too :worship:

I think each of us is our own worst critic. We tend to judge ourselves too harshly and we are impatient with ourselves for not being "Better". We hold ourselves to some one else s level but, with experience, we learn to embrace our own style which is evolving as we take more and more pictures.

Keep on taking pictures, and keep on reading photography books and most importantly, keep on sharing!!! You are doing great and we really appreciate all that is "You" that you have with your pictures.

DITTO all of that! :thumbsup2

Keep it coming!

I was hesitant to do a trip report because I didn't feel up to my photographic best on our December trip. It was SO cold most of the week, then really rainy another day....... it made it really hard to do my best. But I decided I need a little Disney magic in the midst of the winter blahs (my kids are on their NINTH snow day of the year today.....) so I started one too! I feel like I'm reliving the trip, so that can't be bad, right?

And WHAT's with all this baseball excitement? With just a minor league farm team here in KC, we don't get too worked up. Perhaps you guys have heard of the Royals? Man, 1985 was a good year......... :rotfl2:

Love the update! I know what you mean about it taking forever to write a TR. I'm a stay at home mom and it still felt like it took me forever to complete my TR. If I was working there is no way I think I could do one.

I really enjoyed riding on the People Mover too. It's a great place to take my DD while DH and DS are riding Space Mountain. It may be considered a "slow" ride but it's exciting to me. And the views are fanstastic!
