Whats happening with car hire???

Maybe Wayne can help here, i've only got myself to blame, but i have been hanging on to see if car hire tariffs come down. There is something definately wrong when Virgin are the cheapest when i go (4/8/09 - 25/8/09).

so guys can someone please either point me in the right direction, or tell me why everyone is so expensive at the moment.

By the way i have to pick my rental from somewhere Down town (Buena Vista hotel, doubletree etc)

Prices have risen significantly recently due to the weakness of the £, until that changes prices will not get any cheaper. I also found VA/VH car hire only the cheapest for when we went in February.

I would have never have thought it but VIRGIN are cheaper than USrentacar

even with the proper insurances? The basic car hire rate with Virgin doesn't include the insurances that would be recommended, whereas with usrentacar, you do get those even in the non gold option

Our Alamo hire car came as part of JetSaves' FlyDrive package and was way cheaper than Virgin were quoting - plus we're flying with Virgin
1,300 for flights, car hire and all insurances for Easter......

Are Alamo worth checking?
