We were looking at booking a trip Feb 29-March 3 and practically everything is booked. BWPPI, HoJo, and all 3 of the disneyland hotels are saying they are completely booked. Is something going on that week I don't know about. And it's a mid week trip.

The Disneyland hotels have a promotion on for stays from Sunday to Thursday during that time. Have you called and asked if they are completely booked or if they are just not showing availability for that offer?

We had originally booked over that time period with Disney and there was lots available but this was back in December and the CM indicated they would sell out quickly for the discount. We since changed out plans to HOJO - I just tried HOJO and BWPPI for Feb 29th through March 3rd and plenty of rooms show up on their website for those dates. :confused3

There is actually nothing listed on the calendar for those exact dates but there are some events on the weekend prior.

Maybe my comp is having problems then. I went to book and it said rooms available and then I clicked book and it said no rooms available. Do you think the discount is going to have a high increase in crowds then?

Disneyland is busy all the time! We were there this weekend and it was just as busy as it was when we were there in September! My guess is, it's just going to be busy.

The discount period is from Jan 3 through to end of March - so it is not just that one week.

I agree! Our theory is to avoid spring break, holiday season etc. but there is no avoiding crowds entirely. I think otherwise you really have to have a strategy on dealing with crowds as you are bound to get some busy days even when doing mid week in what used to be considered the "off season".

Have you checked out the various dance and cheer competitions? This is the season....

There is cheer comp that weekend. While held at Knotts this year vs DCA they also offered discount Disney tickets. My daughter is competing on two teams this year and both groups are extending the trip for Disney time. Look for cheerleaders to arrive starting Thursday as that is the first day the convention tix are handed out.

I have wondered the same thing for some time. I see many hotels with Feb 29 totally booked up. I really wonder if people booked their hotels for that night in hopes of Disney doing another "One more Disney day" on Leap Day like they did 4 years ago. It would make sense... in my mind anyway.

Yes but it ain't happening so people would have been able to cancel by now. We were there during cheer events before that were actually in the parks and it was not a big deal.

We're going to Disneyland Feb 28th and 29th. We actually just booked it a week ago. Called BWPPI and got a 2 queen suite for $150 a night for being a rewards member. I couldn't believe it with such short notice! Definitely going to call from now on.

i planned trip to California around the hope that 29th would be a 24hr day, but unfortunately that didn't pan out

Are you still going to Disneyland or have you canceled your trip? Just wondering how many people have done the same but canceled last minyte

It's because I will be there. ;D just kidding but I really did not think anything was going on those days that's why I booked those exact days. Maybe everyone else had the same idea as me, thinking it would be less busy.
