What's Happening In Norway?

I guess they could make a new exit for the ride, but it would really be a much more comfortable place for the girls to be. I for one think they should be added to Arkeshu's as the welcoming Princesses (well, Queen and Princess) as well.

I for one think it's a great plan to put them back at Epcot with FP. Then we can all pick one between Soarin, TT and A/E. Won't that be swell.

I have no idea why that's a Tier 1 now.... The waits have never been more than 20 minutes when I've been there.

Wait times for Maelstrom have often been in the 45 minute range over the last few months.

Also, during busier times of the year there aren't enough FP+ for Test Track and Soarin' to go around so that everyone can get at least one of those two. They needed a 3rd ride for tier 1 so people could at least book some ride with their tier 1 selection.

I didn't realize that Maelstrom was supposed to be down for refurb while we were there. Anyone know the dates on this? All of us love that ride and would hate to be down during our upcoming trip!

Well as I've said "when I'VE been there it's never been over 20." Also, that would make sense to put A/E there then, if not having enough Tier 1 has been an issue. My hope is that the tiers go away in the next few years as things settle down and all the kinks get worked out.

The ride isn't scheduled for a refurbishment. Right now they are doing exterior work (painting, cleaning, etc.) If there were cast members blocking off the entrance to the ride it was either because it wasn't open yet or it broke down.

There is nothing in the room that Anna and Elsa were in at this time. The gift shop does still carry Anna and Elsa merch at this time, though it isn't as plentiful as it was, as they are heavily stocking the merch in MK now. And Anna and Elsa are not returning to that area. There are no plans to put them back in that room or put them in the movie area either.

Just my two cents. No way they could be ready to start construction on a frozen ride, no one expected frozen to be so popular. It takes more than 4 months to get a ride ready for construction. (Much less build the animatronics) though I do think it's a natural fit there and would help boost Epcot's offerings if done correctly.

I think the idea of putting in an A&E meeting spot in the movie area of Maelstrom is likely, but they may not leave MK either. I would expect as popular as they are for them to be available at both parks. (At least for a couple of years, while they are so popular)

This makes complete sense. I am just attached to Maelstrom and every little thing that happens sets me on edge. That's why I am stalking this thread...

Man I really wish they would bring back Anne and Elsa here, they are popular enough to have two meeting places and that would really help bring down the crazy long lines.

That's good. I love Anna and Elsa but I don't want them to take over Maelstrom. I love Maelstrom! I even love the outdated movie at the end.

Just went on Malestrom earlier today. Didn't notice any construction or painting going on anywhere around that area. Wait time was 10 minutes when we were there about noon. Didn't see anyFrozen merchandise for sale in the Norway shop.

Malestrom was an option for our FP for June 9th. I went with TT for our Tier 1 though. I plan to be riding Malestrom stand by from 11-12 until our noon ADR at Akersus
