“Lowcountry, Plein Air” – “Impressions of the Lowcountry” presented by the Low Country Plein Air Society, the members have gathered to paint together in various picturesque Low Country settings since 2008. The group’s membership includes artists from around the region, from Beaufort to Savannah. Harbour Town Lights at The Sea Pines Resort & Holiday Window Contest. Dozens of Christmas light displays, including the Harbour Town Lighthouse, with original works of art created by local elementary school students on display in shop windows. This holiday season Santa Claus isn’t just coming to town, he will be visiting Tanger Outlet Center 2 for A Visit with Santa TangerStyle. Palmetto Animal League’s ‘Putt for PAL’ charity golf tournament will be held, at Belfair’s Fazio West Course in Bluffton. For decades, renowned advice columnist Ann Landers answered countless letters from lovelorn teens, confused couples, and those in need of advice. Hilton Head Island High School’s Performing Arts Department will bring the much-loved musical Grease to life on stage at the school’s Visual and Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. The cast has stocked up on giant cans of hairspray and gel, donned leather jackets and poodle skirts, and brought plenty of ‘50’s attitude to portray these unforgettable characters full of teenage rebellion and dreams of true love. Take a “Waterway Excursion” with the Museum! The Coastal Discovery Museum has a new cruise for the winter months; the cruise will explore the waterways around the Pinckney Island Forest Preserve on board the Tammy Jane. The 2 – 2 ½ hour educational cruise will circumnavigate the Pinckney Island (Skull Creek and Mackay Creek). You will learn about the salt marsh, maritime forest, barrier islands, and the history of Pinckney Island. A naturalist on board will help with identifying any plants or animals that are visible.
