For our September trip, we had planned on eating at Yachtsman Steakhouse. Unfortunately, it appears they no longer have Prime Rib, so the couple we are going with have suggested it isn't for them. They want to go to HOB and as accomodating as always, Uncleromulus has made ADR's there.
Now--what should I order?? How's the meatloaf?? Anything I should avoid? Do they still serve Dixie Blackened Voodoo Beer??

The voodoo shrimp appetizer is terrific - good spice but not overpowering, just flavorful. And my husband really liked their salmon entree, the official name of which escapes me (helpful, I know).

I've only eaten there once. Ordered something called a "banger," and it was served on a mound of cold mashed potatoes. :rotfl2: I won't be eating there again any time soon.

WHOOPS ... l made a mistake here. Argggg .... I was thinking of Raglag Road, Not the House of Blues. Have eaten at the House of Blues several times, and enjoyed it everytime.

I was there a little over a year ago and had the catfish...it was burnt and awful. Don't think I would go there again, there are too many other great places. How about Wolfgang Puck?

My DH and DS had the ribs and they said they were the best they had on our entire trip...they ordered ribs several times. I had the jambalaya. It was delicious...very spicy so if you do not like heat, this is not for you.

If you want something lighter but filling try the flat iron steak salad:love: It has grilled corn, black beans, diced tomatoes, avocado, red onion and cilantro ranch dressing. It is delicious.

Have a great trip!

We ate there twice last May & I enjoyed the Voodoo Shrimp w/rosemary cornbread & the ribs, yummy! My DD raved about the chicken tenders, if you like that sort of thing. I also had the jambalaya & didn't care for it that much, it was just ok, I guess it depends on your taste.

I have ordered there Jambalaya and meat loaf dinners and loved them both. We always have to get an order of there Rosemary Cornbread to share with our dinner. We have eaten at HoB many times and always enjoyed it.

WHAT WE'VE TRIED:
Excellent: blues burger, gumbo, jambalaya, rosemary cornbread, pizza (surprisingly), salmon, and the calamari (though the chili oil/sauce will light you up). They make a decent bloody mary as well. :thumbsup2

Good or Okay: meatloaf, flat iron steak salad, ribs, chicken breast, brownie, key lime pie.

Bad: haven't found anything bad yet....

IMHO - HOB is one of the untapped gems for dining at DTD. Enjoy.

Had one of the best meals of our trip there!! Rosemary cornbread and then ribs!!
