What's Going On??

I wish I was just singing along with Marvin Gaye, but I'm curious.....

Apparently, I just booked the very last room at POR for Saturday, 5/20! All of the values are fully booked with the exception of the family suites at AOA, but POFQ, POR, and CS are all booked up as well. I know that Pandora is open to previews (we're going on the 22nd!), but is it really going to be that busy?? My crowd tracker has AK at a 10 for the weekend, but the rest of the parks are anywhere between 5-7. I would love to see if anyone else is going around that time as well. We're staying at POR from 5/20-5/22, then BCV from 5/22-5/27. What does everyone think?

We are going from the 16th - 22nd (21st is our Pandora preview), and the crowd calendars say 5's and 6's most of the days but I have a feeling it will be more crowded than that. Your week leads into Memorial Day weekend so that may have a big effect.

I figured the lead in to Memorial Day would have an effect, but to the point where most values and moderates are filled to capacity? Kinda strange to me...

I'm going May 21-27 and posted something similar that got no responses. I am a little concerned that it might be busier than anticipated due to all of the hotels being booked solid. I've also seen many people on these boards going those same dates...so maybe it really will be packed? I seriously hope not.

The only mod available for Nov 27 - Dec 6 was a pirate room at CBR. All other mods showed no vacancy at all. I thought this was supposed to be a quieter time...

We'll be there the same week, and there were many room options unavailable months ago when we booked. I was surprised, but I hadn't put too much thought into it. Hopefully it won't be too crowded!

If you search for single nights from 5/19-5/25, most moderates and values have rooms available. So it looks like it is more Disney's room blocking system that is making it look like everything is sold out.

The first week of December hasn't been "quiet" for quite a while.

We're going May 28 - June 1. Our Florida AP's block us out of the parks starting June 3 (I think), so we wanted to catch the last day of Flower & Garden @ EPCOT, and of course check out Pandora.

I'm hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. If the crowds are too crazy, we will just enjoy time at the resort (AKL).

We don't do holidays at theme parks, I don't know what I was thinking when I made the reservations.:crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2:

Also, you may not see rooms that are still available. For ex, TAs may have some and if you log in as a passholder, you may see some. They allot rooms to different categories so unless you are checking every type of pricing, you really can't tell if there is more availability.

This also has to do with the fact that both Coronado and Caribbean resort are under construction and have rooms removed from inventory.

I think it's the perfect storm: 2 resorts missing rooms, a new land and schools in the south getting out for summer vacation (my DD gets out on May 18th and we arrive on the 20th), along with the official start of summer a week later are all adding to the feel of a very busy time at WDW.

I think while the 20th thru the end of the week will be busy, I am glad we are leaving before the official opening of Pandora. We are hoping for a soft opening, but if not we will come back after the excitement dies down.

I know that some reservations were cancelled for the week of the 20th (assuming people moved to the next week) as the room that we wanted wasn't initially available for our whole stay.

Here's hoping for a great week

I think it's because everyone is coming to celebrate my birthday with me on the 20th :)

But I do think it'll be extra crowded. I just checked and I've never seen so many hotels with absolutely no rooms available, for any promotion or rack rate. Also played around with the dates. If the parks get too crazy I'll just relax by the pool.

We'll be there 5/19-5/22 as well for our Pandora preview on 5/21. I hope it's not too crazy busy but we're going kidless this time around so it never seems as bad then ;) Seems that the combination of rooms missing and everything stated above doesn't help either.
