This is probably the 15th post I've seen in the last week of "What's going on for xx-xx?" Either the booking system is acting Wonky, WDW has gotten even better at filling every resort room or a combin of both.

Gartner IT is that week, which eats a lot of Deluxe space. Gartner IT is absolutely gigantic.

In my experience with October trips there seem to be a lot of conventions that reserve blocks of rooms. We have had three trips in October where there was literally no availability at any of the resorts except for the most expensive suites, so we made plans to just stay elsewhere. But then sometimes as late as a week before our departure date, suddenly there was availability everywhere - from Values to Deluxe. I kept checking every day and like Magic, a week or two before our departure date, TONS of availability. I am guessing the resorts released any blocked rooms that hadn't been sold at that point.

In addition to whatever the event may be (if any), Food and Wine is in full swing as is MNSSHP.

Southern schools have fall break that week.
The entire states of KY and TN empty out and go to Disney.

thanks for all the input! I am planning what is a last minute trip for my DH bday and there is nothing and I mean nothing except the cabins which might be a fun new thing for us to try for a short hop. I was hoping that other options might open up as we get closer. I am such an uber planner that this is not my normal style lol

It is an IT conference run by a gigantic infotech research company. They have insane revenue in the billions, and no one runs a big corporate IT operation without research or services from them. The conference is really quite good, and it is gigantic.

Thanks again for all the good info! I would just wait till a few weeks prior and see but then no fast passes , no adr, and by then flights will be pricey....oh well at least I know what's up
