What's goig on with TSMM?

It looks as if (to speculate) if you already have a FP for TSMM, it's probably ok? The problem is, some of those weeks are acting as if they are 'already sold out' right at opening, which leads us to believe they might have it closed at that time, perhaps for refurb, but no one really knows. I'm booking it for all of my DHS FPs from here til then just so I can be sure and get it in before hand...

It could just be a system error. If you do have an issue with your FP and the ride is open for operation, just go to guest services or the fp kiosk and they should be able to fix the problem. If the ride is closed for refurbishment, then you can still go to the fp kiosk or guest services and they will try to get you a different fp of your choice. I wouldn't stress out about it.

There's a comment from the person that runs the Dibb website on that site that's says he thinks it's an issue with the fast pass system not a closedown - he mentions that the system is also showing that two other attractions are out during that timeframe that aren't listed on the Dibb site because they usually have day of FP availability...

hmm so fast passes are available on the first day of winter holiday. I wonder if they are decorating it for xmas but I would have expected that to have been announced and seems weird. If it's not the temporary closure as the renovation info says will happen it's just odd. Doesn't make a wish come through around this time? I wonder if they just froze them while they sort out those schedules.

It's because it will be closed for a while, because they are adding a new track to shorten wait times.

Thanks, I will go read it. I had thought I read somewhere that it was supposed to stay open during the time they were going to add the track, but now I cannot find what I read.

ETA: read what you posted, but it doesn't say the ride is actually going to be closed in the time in question.

Yeah, but how could you redirect a track to a different building, while allowing people to ride on it.

I'm sure there's a law about it, but then again, this is Disney we are talking about. :)

But the point is that yes, they are adding a second track, and at some point there is likely to be a short overall closure of the attraction to finalize that refurbishment. But nowhere does it say WHEN this will happen, or more specifically, that the lack of FP availability in late October has ANYTHING to do with the construction in question. To say that is the reason is purely speculation, until Disney announces otherwise.

I haven't got a clue. They are leaving Soarin' open while they build the added capacity there, right? I don't know how any of this stuff works. Lol. I don't pay attention to the man behind the curtain, I want to preserve the magic. :D

I thought that the second TSMM would actually have a completely different entrance. Maybe they will have to shut down the original one for a bit, but that wasn't the impression given from the original press releases.

If they have the same entrance, that could be the problem. Having two entrances sounds confusing but who knows?

I think I had read speculation that one entrance would be FP+ and the other standby, which could work out pretty nicely and make sense. I had read speculation that the same thing might happen at Soarin', but it's entrance is completely different from TSMM.

That could work... But of course people will inevitably try to enter the wrong line. They do that now anyway.

You can't fix stupid:) However, to be nice, I am sure that I have done the wrong thing once or twice at WDW too.
