A while ago we had a thread going about what we'd had for dinner for the past week. I think initially it started as "What's planned for the week?" but some of us weren't deciding until the last minute. ;) Janice (dizney-cruiser) mentioned to me that she missed the thread so I thought I'd try starting it again.

So please tell us either what you have planned for the next week, or what you've had in the past week. Feel free to list what sides you've served with the meal or just the main dish. Don't bother to post the recipes with the menu...if something strikes someone's fancy, you can request that the recipe be added to the thread. I'll start.

In the past week we've had:
Mexican night - Tortilla Soup & tacos
Meatloaf, baked potatoes, asparagus
chicken stir fry
Tater Tot casserole
chicken divan
and leftovers ;)

So what have you had this week?

Ok -you asked for it :confused3

Friday - chicken prosciutto with parmesan rissotto - don't get crazy we went out to dinner with friends

Saturday - Little Ceasars pizza grabbed on the fly with the Girl Scout troop between collecting and returning deposit bottles and cans as a fund raiser

Sunday - chips & cheese and taquitos from a box when we tumbled in to the house about 7:30 pm

Monday - Subway dropped at the high school for DS and the rest of us munched through it as we came in from various activities and prepared to head out again

tonight - kids will probably have Subway again (dropped off for both at the high school auditorium as it is tech week for the fall show), I have a potluck to attend (luckily as a board member I don't have to actually bring a dish!), and DH will grab something if and when he can as this is his busiest day of the entire year!

Wed - Thur - Fri & Sat this week are totally up for grabs with dress rehearsal and the show running. If we're LUCKY we'll sit down for something pulled from the freezer and heated through but more than likely we'll be relagated to our "usual show week" dinners which is fast food grabbed on the run and eaten somewhere in the vicinity of the theater!

Deb

I have been in such a rut when it comes to dinner lately, so last week I got out a few cookbooks, picked a few recipes, went to the store to get all the ingredients I didn't have and made a different one each night. We've had:

Margarita Chicken
Penne with roasted vegetables
chicken with artichokes,
beef stew
stuffed peppers
corned beef and cabbage

Hey Deb, we all have weeks like that! ;) Sometimes there's just too much going on, isn't there? Good luck with the show! :teeth:

Twigs - we only have corned beef & cabbage once a year...in March. Neither of the kids ever liked it. DD will eat the meat, but hates the cabbage. So I only subject her to the smell once a year. LOL Although sometimes I'll cheat & make it twice in a row & just tell her that it's still leftover! :ssst:

I'm back in that rut again too. After our Disney trip in 2001 when I found this board, I had all kinds of new things to make. Between Boma recipes & board recipes we had new things all the time. Now I've run through pretty much everything that sounded good (that everyone eats all of the ingredients for) and we seem to have the same things over & over.

Hopefully we'll get some new ideas here! ;)

:rotfl: you expect me to remember :rotfl:

ok here is a shot at it -
and it is BAD...

Monday - lucky charms cereal (after parent teacher conferences for ds)

Sunday - Chinese take out delivered (after we got in late from DS's b-day party)

Saturday - Pizza (are we pathetic or what - but we were woking at the new house and thats all there is available in that neck of the woods)

Friday - Meat and Gravy, mashed potat's, and candied carrots

Thursday - Meatball grrinders

Wednesday - homemade grinders (ham or turkey depending on the person)

Tuesday - spagh and meatballs

Monday - Chicken , rice, and corn

Here goes...I only know this because I am making a huge effort to cook and keep our budget in line...we ate out far too much!

Fri: Kung Pao Chicken, rice
Sat: Grilled steak tacos, rice, Fruit Salad
Sun: Cheese pizza made on Boboli, green salad
Mon: BBQ chicken (wanted to grill, but it snowed!), potatoes
Tues: kids ate cereal, DH and I had a meeting so we didn't eat.
tonight: Grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches on sourdough, fruit salad and fries.

I have every dinner planned until the end-of-month...let's see how well I stick to it!! :rotfl:

Patty T.

WE LOVE LUCKY CHARMS!!!! My kids think they are dessert! :rolleyes1

if anyone has made chinese for dinner and has a recipe for plum sauce that doesn't have chili powder in it, can you let me know? I am looking for a recipe for chicken and cashews with plum sauce. (but it's sweet plum sauce not the kind with chili powder in it.)

Last night we had Pizza Hut because we were all different places and DH offered to pick up dinner on the way home so we could all eat together.

Tonight, we're having tortilla soup. Mmmmmmm.

Sat. - I pressure cooked a pot roast with carrots and potatoes.

Sun.- taco salads and quesadillas

Mon.- take out hamburgers and fries (all of us going in different directions until 8:45 p.m.)

Tues. - salad, french bread, baked potatoes, shrimp etoufee, and baked tilapia filets. The tilapia was soooo easy and even the kids loved it. DH was going out of town on business Wed. morning is why I made such a big meal on a weeknight.

Wed. - Dh out of town, kids and I were bored so we ate at our favorite local Mexican restaurant.

Thurs. - (tonight) - American chop suey and garlic bread.

Fri. - hubby will be home yay! Busy schedule tomorrow evening though so I am going to make a shepherd's pie and crescent rolls.

Not sure about this weekend yet.

Patty T, I am right there with you. I can only remember what we had tonight!

It was crepes. Yum :goodvibes

Wait a second, spaghetti last night. mmmmmm, can't remember beyond that. :rotfl2:

lol!

Monday.....cajun salmon filets, garlic mashed potatoes, and baby carrots

Tuesday...out to Lone Star for chopped steaks, mushrooms, baked potatoes, salad, rolls....we needed a night out, haven't had one in awhile. Then we walked a local outdoor shopping center...it was 73 degrees....lovely night!

Wednesday .....leftover penne pasta and meatballs from last week.

Thursday.....our version of the Romanburger cooked at home....cook hamburgers, and on a griddle place salami and your buttered rolls...when salami heated through place some white american/swiss mix cheese on top to melt. Assemble burger, salami on grilled roll top with tomatoes, mayonaise, and Neumanns garlic parmesean dressing.....yummy! Had cottage cheese and baked beans too!

Friday......don't got a clue...have a lot of errands to run so we will see.....

love this thread...especially since it makes you see how much you eat out and might make us all get creative with our meals.
