I probably would have fired up the grill (as usual) but I extended at work to cover a call-in. You should stop by and say hi on your way to the WL!! Or come after, and bring me leftovers...

I'm not feeling well, but I rallied to fix a very nice Italian Chicken dish. The only problem? No one but me here to enjoy it. The daughter is passed out. The son is wandering the streets. The partner is playing softball. It's me and the border collies.

We are still working at the pool store with an estimated home arrival time of maybe 9pm tonight .....I am not complaining.... so it looks like eggs for dinner. Then again maybe just chips, salsa and a beer……now that sounds good.

I'm with you on the BEER - right now I'm enjoying a nice little pinot noir.

And I sure would bring dinner - I can smell it bubbling away as we "speak" - but I don't have a clue where you live!

Being that Gabby is in FL and I am home with the herd of Chihuahuas and the cats, I am sticking to the food that's in the house. So, it was either a sandwich or a pot pie. The turkey pot pie won. Maggie

WOW is all I can say about my dinner. If you haven't already, you really should try this place!

Let me begin by saying Disney is so much more magical when you don't have to park behind the dumpster, go in the back door, and actually work. The minute you pull into the Wilderness Lodge your breath is taken away. The place is an absolute piece of art!

Whispering Canyon is more of a family restaurant, but our group of 4 adults sure had fun, just be sure to participate. If you have catsup and someone needs it, take it on over. If you have a red crayon, and they need one, take it to them.... play along.

We opted for the all you care to eat skillet option and it was great! Homemade corn bread and salad start the meal, followed by skillets filled with baked chicken, ribs, pulled pork, sausage, corn on the cob, beans, and mashed potatoes. Everything was great, the service, the food, everything!

We followed dinner with a cocktail out by the pool to catch "Old Faithful" and it was a very relaxing evening.

It really is nice to be on the other side of the "magic" once and a while.

This is one I would recommend!

It is a nice place, isn't it OrlandoMike? Artist Point is wonderful too!

Dinner tonight was roasted lamb chop, grilled sweet corn, sauteed spinach and roasted sweet potatoes.

Artist Point is to die for, a completely different category. Fine dining at its best! We chose the Canyon because my friend got a transfer there and she wanted to check it out. The pony races are adorable, even if you don't have kids. Beware, this place can be loud, but if you don't really want to participate they have an area called the Library that is a lot quieter. Just ask to be seated there.

TOTALLY Love Whispering Canyon -- had the nicest server EVER there last fall.

I was by myself, feeling a little lonesome, and really wanted mashed potatoes (I know -- serious carb junkie here) so I ordered "something" and mashed potatoes. I must have mentioned that all I was really looking for was the afore-mentioned smashed root. Guess what I got? You got it! A double serving of taters w/o whatever probably totally tasty meat product they were supposed to accompany. AWESOME!!!!!

But here's the funny part. DP, Gwen, walks into work and one of her labmates (she's a molecular biologist) asks, "How was the Italian Chicken?" Gwen says, "What???"

Apparently her coworker was reading the disboards, planning an upcoming trip, when she wanders over to the Gay and Lesbian board and what does she find but a post from a poor, lonely woman named Viki, who has been utterly abandoned by her family, the members of which are either working, on walk abouts, or playing softball - which is exactly where she knows Gwen was at the time! The rest was easy!
Oh, my, THAT's too small a world for me.

Tonight, I decided to give up on food at home and ordered out for Chinese food from my favorite place down the street. I have lots of leftovers, which should get me through lunch and dinner tomorrow. Maggie

Down here in Orlando its almost "SUMMER!". Which means it's raining so we cant grill! But we need the rain bad.

Shhh on the Chineese, if the DP catches wind of that there will be $35 worth in the fridge tomorrow night when I get home, anyone feel like betting? I'm working a double, so he is on his own for dinner, the odds are on your side!

1 eggroll
1.5 tubs of white rice
.5 tub of fried rice
.5 tub of General Chao's Chicken
1 tub vegetable egg foo young

I swear I wont say a word to the DP! We should start a game..."How well I know my parther!"

And if I say anything he says "It makes good leftovers"......What ya gonna do?
