What's for dinner? Was it "budget"?

Tonight it is boneless pork loin, carrots and celery in the crock pot. I used vegetable broth for the base and cook it on low all day. Yummy I can't wait.
Pork: $4.89
Carrots: .89
Celery: .50
Cheap and easy dinner tonight.

I was a litte disappointed this morning when there wasn't chicken mex casserole left to bring for my lunch...but that means it made one dinner for 4 and 4 lunches. :cool1:

Tonight is upside down night. The girls looked at me crazy when I asked them what they wanted....duh! It's upside down night.

Sooooo:

monkey bread: maybe 50 cents
scrambled eggs: about $1
bacon: $3.50 ( it was on sale:scared1: )

or it might be french toast which would be cheaper as the bread was free:banana: . Guess we'll know when I get home:rotfl2:

This week looks to be a meat at every night time meal week...that doesn't happen very often.

I am making

Chicken Noodles and Mashed Potatoes. Probably Green beans on the side.

Chicken (boneless skinless breast)(big bag at Sam's Club) 1.99 per pound (using 1 pound)
Chicken (wing and leg pieces) from Wal*Mart .50¢
Noodles (free from another meal) or .75¢ if I use the bag in my pantry.

Mashed Potatoes .50¢ Homemade from a giant bag bought cheap.
*Green beans canned .50¢

Cost 3.50 or 4.25 depending for at least 6 meals.

So, I will be full and happy and snuggled down on my cozy couch after dinner.... waiting for... SURVIVOR! YAY! Ozzie's back, baybeeeee!!!! :woohoo: Ok, calming down now... deeeep breaths.... :rolleyes1

Tonight is SURVIVOR?! I'm so glad you posted that!!! If we can't watch it, I'm going to have to tivo it for sure! I think this season going to be a really good one too. There were some pretty spicy things Jeff P. had to say about what to expect. I won't say any more, but holy cow!

DH and I are doing omelettes tonight with cheddar, onions and ham. And some whole wheat toast on the side. I reckon this dinner will cost us about $3 total.

I'm making low-fat turkey chili tonight. I got the ground turkey at the farmer's market where I got my veggies, and it was pricey! More than ground beef. The ground breast was 3.99/lb and the ground thigh was 1.99/lb. I got 1/2 pound of each. 3 cans of diced tomatoes with chilies, (2.25), 1 green pepper (46c), 1 onion (10c?), 2 cans of black beans (1.50) and spices, which I already have in my pantry. So about $7 for the pot and there is sure to be leftovers. I'll make Jiffy corn muffins, which are cheap (33c a box) too.

Well tonights dinner is budget big time (last nights dinner was over budget:scared1: )

Now we are running all around tonight due to our sports, so I am not doing a meal..
also I am doing the clean out the pantry so here we go

here is what I have planned;)
box mac and cheese =..85 cents
bag salad=..1$
peanutbutter and jelly?? maybe with bread ..1.50??
oranges. 250
cucumbers..200
soup for dh..85 cents

So maybe 10.00 for dinner with a drink??

Tonight we're having chicken piccata. Leftover chicken from a store bought rotisserie shredded with lemon juice, capers, garlic, and breadcrumbs, served over parmesan rice. I'm sure there will be a veggie or fruit on the side.

Tonight we are having flat taco's and homemade guacamole:

taco meat that was from another meal and frozen $1.
tortillas - $1
2 avacados - 5 for $6 so $2.40 each
shredded cheddar (had already)
cherry tomatos (leftover from veggie dip on Superbowl)
refried beans .89
sour cream (had already)

2/7 - Baked potato bar and homemade applesauce

7 russet potatoes $1.00
cheese $1.00
leftover frozen bacon - only 8 slices of turkey bacon left so I assume the cost has been posted in another meal.
sour cream .25
green onions .25

3 large apples, sugar, and cinammon $1.00

$3.50 and DD will have applesauce in her lunch tomorrow and there are two baked potatoes and fixings left for a lunch.

Stouffer's lasagne, garlic bread, bagged salad. Total, about $10.
I'll have leftovers for lunch.
Now that there are just three of us at home, it is cheaper to buy the small frozen lasagne than to make it from scratch.

We are having cheesesteak sandwiches.
steak...$5
mushrooms....$2
onion...50 cent?
half greenpepper....$1
rolls..$3
cheese....$2

So about $13 for 2 of us.....(DD stayed with her nana tonight:thumbsup2 )

Crockpot roast and veggies today:

Roast ~ free from the slab of beef my mom bought us
Potatoes ~ around $1.00 worth
Carrots ~ $0.25
Spices, gravy etc. ~ approx. $1.50

Total $2.75 for today :)

Pizza night! :) I found another Red Barron Pizza in the freezer that I got for $2.50 (just before they went up to $4.99). Yippee!!! :yay: I'll add some pepperoni to it. Maybe we'll have a fruit smoothie for dessert!

Friday... So we are having Cheesy Tuna Noodle .99 box kit and .50 for a can of tuna. I will make garlic fajita shells on the side. Garlic - free, small amount of margarine .25, and parmesian cheese .50. (Leftover applesauce from last night)

$2.50

Tonight is boneless/skinless chicken thighs (got them on sale) with Newman's Own Balsalmic Vinagrette poured on top (we all love this).

Probably a Lipton Side Dish that was on sale last week. And a veggie of course.

Tomorrow night (in case I don't get on here) will be homemade pizzas. Homemade dough.

I am cleaning out the pantry so here we go...

shepards pie
ground turkey 3$
gravy 25 Cents
potatoes=150
can corn=50 cents
bag salad=1$
milk =2???

Tonight is super simple - Tuna Sanwiches (mayo, pickles, boiled eggs) on whole wheat bread, chips (leftover from Superbowl party on Sunday!), and grapes. Maybe I'll make sugar free pudding or something for dessert.

Tonight we are having French Dips.
Shaved deli roast beef on hoagie rolls with sharp white cheddar cheese melted on top. Lots of Au Jus for dipping.
Tater tots and a green salad on the side.

Mmmmm french dips sound so good! I don't think I've had that since I was a kid.
