A new month! Happy August.

I'm planning for dinner tonight, fried chicken breasts, pan gravy, and steamed cauliflower. We have a busy day today, so this may change to something carry out :earboy2: .

Have a fun day.

It is DS's 18th birthday and we're having a bunch of family and friends over for a cook out. Burgers, dogs, potato salad, beans, etc and of course birthday cake!

Deb

Cajun catfish (just sprinkled with cajun seasoning & baked, but this is one of our favorite things! ::yes:: )
Corn on the cob
Garden salads

At this time of year we have corn quite often...I mean when it's being sold right outside your door & picked only an hour earlier, how can you resist?? :teeth:

We had beef and mixed vegetable chow mein for lunch - home made - apart from the noodles.
For dinner DH cooked and made 2 large pans of home made beef tomato and vegetable soup with dumplings. :goodvibes

I have NO idea! :confused3
Our fridge died the end of last week and Mark is going tonight go get a new one!
Mind you the freezer is working TO well and everthing is OVERfrozen and takes 2 days to thaw!
(yes we tried defrosting the thing 3 times in the last month...
so it might be take out - or WHO KNOWS!

Pepper steak for us with homegrown peppers. mmmm....one of my favorites!

I took out pork chops, so pork chops, probably on the george forman, some type of potatoes, probably baked and most likely a salad.

Not a clue! I have a Pampered Chef consultant meeting tonight after work, so I'm thinking they might be testing out some of the new recipes so that would be dinner. I might have to swing through a McD's drive-thru though just in case. Of course if they do test some recipes, maybe that will help me decide which ones to test on the hubby this weekend. He likes that I have this job because he gets to try all kinds of yummy things.

Hey Kelleigh1!
I also am a PC Consultant. My DH loves that he gets to be the taste tester, I always do run throughs on recipes I have not done yet if a host picks it for her recipe. That way it can be tweeked to fit the party. Have a great fall selling season! :flower:

Thanks, you too!! At the meeting tonight we're going to get to see the new items. I can not wait. For recipes, I'm looking at making the chocolate-banana phyllo bundles this weekend. And I want to make the Asian potstickers soon too. I'm trying to convince everyone I know that they want to have a chocolate party!!!

Last night we had port chops on the grill, pinto beans, fries for the kids and a baked potato for me and tossed salad. Was really good. Tonight, I think I'm going to fix something Q & E. Maybe chicken sandwiches. DD(14 on 8/18) has started soccer practice for our high school. 2 hrs in the morning 3 hrs in the afternoon. Makes dinner preparation a little difficult!! Thankfully I have some tomatoes out of our garden finally but still no corn. No significant rain between mid-May to mid-July has ruined my garden. Think I'll run to the farmer's market tomorrow and buy some Silver Queen for dinner tomorrow night. YUM, YUM!! :teeth:

::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo ::MinnieMo Red Lobster for us-it's DH's birthday. He picks the restaurant and I don't have to cook or do dishes. I don't know who enjoys the dinner more-him or me! ha!ha!

Chicken tetrazini and salad for us. Just the adults though; the kids were famished and ate at 4:00!

Sloppy Fries! with corn on the cob
Manwich on top of French Fries with cheese and sour cream!!!! Very bad for you but oh so yummy!!!!

This sounds soooo good. That's my kind of comfort food! I never would have thought to put manwich on the fries. Thanks for the great idea. :goodvibes

No fun recipes last night...so dinner ended up being watermelon and M&M's.

I couldn't find the thread for today, so I'm adding on to this one. I haven't posted on these yet, but I've been following them looking for ideas. It really helps me to be a little more creative.

Tonight we bbq'd Shish-k-bobs. I haven't made them in several years. I used steak, onions, peppers, and mushrooms - but have done it in the past with chicken and shrimp. I use 7-up and soy sauce as the marinade. Yum! The boys want me to try sticking some frozen potstickers on their skewers too next time - I think it might work if I brush them with some oil.

oh - i was waiting for a new thread!
grilled burgers, french fried in the fry daddy, potato salad and watermellon

are you frying the burgers in the fry daddy or the potato salad? im thinking im reading this wrong . . .

It took me a minute too, Janice. I think they had burgers and french fries in the fry daddy. ;)

Last night we had sweet Italian sausage on the grill served in rolls with pan fried onions, bell peppers & mushrooms. (YUM!) We also had individual salads & corn on the cob - shhhhh don't tell DD! I promised we wouldn't have it without her while she was at camp but I broke down last night. :rotfl:
