What's faster - the train or walking to Splash?

We are doing the MVMCP on Nov 27th. I just grabbed a FP for Splash 3:30-4:30, BTMR 4:30-5:30, and small world at 5:30-6:30. Not surprisingly no Mine Train FP. Saw one for Space Mountain though.

Is it faster to walk to Splash first thing or taking the train faster? Less walking, also we will probably be pretty distracted on the walk over to Splash, taking photos, ect.

Thanks.
Dan

It depends how fast you walk and how many trains are running/when the last train left. Disney advertises that trains would normally arrive every 5 minutes. If you are tall with long legs, I can be at Splash in 6-8 minutes without being distracted from the main entrance. If you are with a group, that would be your call. Taking the train would save on some walking. I would personally take the train, because there is just something about riding a train in a Disney park. If you have time to take the train, I would say do that for that reason.

"Faster" would be based on all the things you just mentioned. Are you just entering the Park at FP time? Are you coming from another attraction? Are you stopping to shop? To take pictures? For a snack? Just walking from the front of the park...the walking would be 'faster'. I love the train though! Fun experience and would drop you very near to Splash. Your choices are 'save time' or 'save your feet'. Have fun no matter what!

It's faster to walk straight there if you take into account boarding the train, waiting for everyone else to get on, listening to little safety speech, then going. But if you're going to be stopping and taking pictures and stuff then the train will beat you there

I would take the train. We've done it both ways (we typically hit Adventureland/Frontierland first thing when we enter) and at RD, it's kind of fun to saunter over there. However, you are going to be entering at a really busy time when regular day guests will still be in the park mixed with the arriving party guests. It will be crowded. Taking the train will help you avoid crowds and save your feet.

As a person with flat feet, I say take the train. I always find that our MK day is always the one that involves the most walking (I check my iPhone health app at the end of each day to see how many steps we took). We take the train whenever we need to hop from one side of the park to another. I only wish it ran a little later at night!
