What's everyone doing to ring in the New Year?

for me........ probably sleeping!! :teeth: Before that some food and games next door at my sister's house.
I teach (so I'm up at 5:30am every day whether I intend to be or not!) and have never been a night owl - I won't make it to midnight!! We are having a few friends over just to hang out, watch movies, enjoy time together, etc. Happy 2017!

I hate when it gets dark so early, and have been falling asleep lately if I sit down and watch TV in the evenings. Probably the only way I'll see the New Year in is if I nap and then wake back up for it!

I agree. It certainly doesn't help when it gets dark right after five. That's 6 hours of total darkness before ringing in the New Year. Makes me tired just thinking of that!!! :rotfl:

probably a movie in the afternoon, then home for some take-out dinner. Maybe play some video games with the kids. Bed time long before midnight. Whoo hoo crazy!

We are also early risers, so I doubt that we will make it to midnight. I think we probably will have some appetizer type foods, relax in from of the fire while we watch TV, and then head to bed.

We have New Years Day dinner here on Sunday so it will be up and moving early on Sunday. I like Holiday meals to be special.

Party....party....party.

We will start at SO family house. Then most likely head to a friends house around 1 am and end there. We will get home around 4ish. My kids even hang out and party.

Not much. Probably order pizza and watch movies...that or Anderson on CNN <3 lol

I think we're just going to stay home this year and cook a nice dinner for the two of us. We've gone to friends homes in the past which was fun but it's kind of nice to stay in, boy are we getting old,lol It's just so cold outside and like others mentioned, it get so dark so early. I also find eating at a restaurant on New Year's Eve is a joke, the service usually is terrible and the prices are incredibly inflated.

I'm usually in my pajamas, on my couch, under a heated blanket, watching the ball drop in Times Square...this year we are going to BE IN Times Square. :faint:

My son turned 16 a few days before Christmas. When we asked him what he would like to do to celebrate his big birthday, this is what he said he wanted to do.

I'm not a fan of crowds, big cities, cold weather or loud music. Pray for me.

Probably sleeping. I work on New Years Day at 8AM.

We usually got to a family party but they cancelled it this year. Thinking of maybe going out for a late lunch or early dinner or just getting take out and having a quiet night at home.

Appetizers for dinner, maybe some board games, then DW & DD11 will crash while DD16 & I hang out until midnight. We don't like being on the road on NYE & not really anyplace appealing we'd want to go overnight.
