So disappointed that the two are going on the same time. With all the closures in the park, you would think, it would spread it out.

Going in 3 weeks, trying to figure which to do.

We do have the dinner package. But we have seen it many times. Do love it.
Never saw the SW Fireworks. Is it worth?

Where do you stand for the fireworks? How early to you get there?

Any chance they add a second show?

Thx.

See the Star Wars spectacular. Stand no further back than the projection towers and get there at least an hour early.

For the first time since MYW tickets were introduced, we will have park hoppers. I plan to hop one night to see Star Wars and use FP to see Fantasmic another night.

I would say if I had to choose, I would pick Star Wars because we've never seen it. But I totally love Fantasmic and get why you'd choose it over SW.

We're going in October, have already seen Fantasmic, but we love the show. Will be doing SW for the first time and planning on arriving about one hour in advance. Supposedly an AWESOME SHOW!:cheer2:

The Fantasmic show has been the same for years.... If you saw it before you've seen the same version they show now. The Star Wars Fireworks is newer so my answer would be ...

1/ If you love fireworks see the SW fireworks show (it was awesome when we saw it in May.)
2/ If you haven't seen Fantasmic you may want to watch that and then see the higher fireworks as you leave Fantasmic (you won't see it all but you will see the part of it).
3/ If you hate star wars but love fantasmic then go to fantasmic and take your time leaving... you'll catch some of the sw fireworks/
4/ If you have hoppers and want to see both --- do it! They're both awesome.

We have seen Fantasmic several times and are huge Star Wars fans, so it is the Star Wars fireworks on our upcoming trip. If I hadn't seen Fantasmic! before, I would make it a point to see it. It it is truly one of the most spectacular shows at WDW.

Using hoppers - we have two Epcot days planned and one HS. So one Epcot day we'll stay for Illuminations, the other Epcot day and HS day will be for SW & Fantasmic. Figure this way, even if SW fireworks aren't every day in Feb, I have 3 open days to play with once they finally release the schedule.

Star Wars!!
But DS & I are huge Star Wars fans and are visiting DHS specifically for all things Star Wars. We have been many times, have seen Fantasmic! many times so for us it's an easy choice. We plan on arriving an hour early to secure a good spot.

Agree with some of the comments above. I am doing some creative scheduling so that we can see Fantasmic on our first day. Going to do a night time trip to EPCOT for the only Test Track FP I could get, and then stay for Illuminations. Then next day, our full EPCOT day, we are going to bug out, head to HS for the SW show. A round about way to see all that I want to see. But, I am a huge fan of the outdoor shows, and really want to catch SW. Just bummed there is no Rivers Of Light yet!

Are the Star Wars fireworks during Fantasmic distracting to the show? I'm trying to decide which to see in a few weeks....

We have done Fantasmic so many times in the past, on our next trip it will definitely be the Star Wars Fireworks! I am so mad that we missed them in April, but we had a quick visit to WDW before a cruise and everyone was too tired (travel day) to stay and watch.

I don't understand why Disney is making us choose! Why schedule 2 "spectaculars" at the same time? Its like having to choose between MSEP and Wishes. I don't want to miss the Star Wars fireworks, but Fantasmic is always a trip highlight for me.

Just venting. Although I may send a quick e-mail to Disney as well.

My trip is 21 days from now, and we will be at DHS on the 2nd full day of our trip. We don't have hoppers, and we are only doing DHS one day, so it's the fireworks for me/us.

Not sure what the schedule will be when we go next May but I'd choose Fantasmic. I haven't seen it since 2003 and my son hasn't seen it yet and loves dragons.
He's not quite at the Star War stage yet but I'm sure on future trips we'll be seeing those fireworks a lot!
If we catch some of fireworks on way out of Fantasmic that'd be a bonus.
But no way would my 4 year old wait an hour for them to start.

We are doing the Star Wars one, with the dessert party. I don't know if we will do Fantasmic at all. We opted not to see it at all on our last trip in 2010, and have seen it at DL a few times in the last couple years (where it is a better show IMO). We will have a second night in HS so we may choose to see Fantasmic, but maybe not.

We were there in July. We chose Fantasmic!

We can't get enough of Fantasmic! It's the perfect show at the end of your day!

As of right now Fantasmic! because just over 60 days out from our trip and Star Wars fireworks are still not on the schedule.

The prime area to view Star Wars a Galactic Spectacular is relatively small, just a reminder that this should not be considered a fireworks show, they do have fireworks and it complements the rest of the projections, lasers, fire, music, special effects, fireworks by themselves would be easy to see...anyways since there's not a lot of space to view the show as it was meant to be viewed (it's a wide scope show so only in front of Center Stage, in front of the 2 projection towers and behind the actual stage is the only spots to experience it all) they opted to have it so that people have to chose between that or F!.
At the beginning of June they actually left 15 minutes between the end of F! and the beginning of SWaGS but got a lot of feedback of people leaving F! early and fast walking or running to grab spots which made it unsafe and also, bothering people who had been waiting for an hour by trying to cram into the small space mentioned above. So they changed it.
I know it's a long explanation but that's what they are telling people when you ask.
