Looking at booking up for December 2007 probably the first 2 weeks rather than stopping for xmas (due to price and family committments). When do the festivities begin? What can we expect?

We went Dec 3rd 2005, for 2 weeks, the first weeks was really crowded, as there was a cheerleader competition, we stayed at ASM resort, and they stayed there too, weather was cold, we needed our tracksuit tops for during the day.

The second week was much more relaxed, crowds had subsided.

MVMCP is on, the decs are up, trees in place, and the christmas music repeatative, (i think that is how you spell it)

Great time of year, we loved it, got all our xmas presents in and much lighter on the pockets, no visa bill in Jan

we went december 3rd, we ddnt see to much of the cheer leaders, we stayed at pop century, we had a great time and the christmas decorations were wonderful!

definatly a great time to go

We went in early December in 2001 and we had a great time. We were lucky that the weather was 'unseasonably hot' (in the high 80's), so it was a bit wierd hearing Christmas songs in your t-shirts and shorts. But the resorts and parks look fantastic with all their decorations up. The crowds are usually a lot quieter than during the run up to Christmas and New Year. I believe that all the decorations go up around Thanksgiving. Have fun with your planning :)

We found the weather rather cold in December. Mandy got unseasonably hot weather, we got unseasonably cold weather :teeth:

The parks were very quiet which was great.

We loved MVMCP, the Osborne Lights and the Candlelight Processional though :)

The Christmas Decorations at the parks and resorts were out of this world :)

We went Dec 1 - 15 2004, and had a wonderful time. Really missed our Disney Christmas this year. All the decorations are up , and I can still hear "It's the Most Wonderful Time Of the Year" which seemed to be playing everywhere. All the parades have a Christmas theme, the trees are great, adn the Osbourne Lights were fantastic. We did MVMCP twice it was so cool wandering round the parks with hot chocolate in the dark... also got loads of great Disney Christmas decorations.

The first week we were there it was quite warm, but not hot - warm enough for shorts/ t-shirts, but you need a jacket in the evening. Second week we had a cold snap - lovely and warm in the sun but about 10 celcius in the bitter wind, needed our jackets all day. Then it went back into the seventies again and we headed for Blizzard Beach, but of course the only other people there were hardy Brits like us....

Crowds were low, though a bit busier at weekends, and we saw the Pop Warner cheerleader folk everywhere but they are quite well dispersed in the parks. Different story if you are in the same resort as them though I think....

Really glad we went in early December, won't be able to do it again as we can't take the kids out of school.

We went 8th - 23rd December 2005. The first week on IDrive was quiet and we did seaworld, bush, universal, city walk, wet and wild (brrrrr!!!) and didnt feel it was overly crowded at all. However we moved to POR 17th December for the last few days and we felt Disney was really busy. The waiting times for the popular rides were on average 60/90 mins during the day and as we didnt heed the information on here about pre booking dining options we found ourselves in long queues for counter service meals during our stay. We didnt need our coats except on the last morning and that was probably more to do with the depression that you get when its time to go home rather than the cold!!! We wore light trousers or shorts throughout our stay and needed a cardigan/jumper or sweatshirt in the mornings up to 10am ish and then in the evenings when it got dark. We swam and the water was heated at both hotels but it was definately nippy getting out. We enjoyed the atmosphere and decorations of this time of the year and were glad we went but would prefer it a bit milder so next time we plan September/October.

We went Dec 25th 2005 to Jan 6th this year. The weather was a bit chilly early morning & evening but beautiful in the day. I have to say that according to the locals we were lucky to be there in an exceptionally warm period. I must admit I found it much more pleasant than July & August and it was wonderful not to have the daily rain you get in Summer in fact we did the whole 10 days over Christmas with only a two minute shower one morning when we were in the car so it didn't matter anyway. The crowds were massive sometimes so queue times were long but we knew that when we booked. The Christmas decorations, parades etc were fabulous The Osbourne Lights at MGM blew me away! Even with the crowds I'd definately go at that time of year again :)
