What's better, Port Orleans Riverside or Coronado Springs?

Myself and my 3 children will be at Disney World arriving 12/16-12/22. I will be staying at one of these resorts. We will not be renting a car, instead we will be depending on Disney transporation. We are having dinner at Polynesian Resort and breakfast at Chef Mickey's the other dining reservations will be made at the parks. We are using the Park Hopper system. Will it be hard to go from place to place using their transporation system, or should I think of other ways to dine? Which resort would be closer to everything?

I personally prefer POR over CSR...but that's just me. As far as each resorts proximity to the parks..they are about the same. If you are going to eat at the Polynesian, just take your resort bus to MK, and then you can either take the monorail from MK to the Polynesian (about 15-20 mins.) or the small ferry boat that goes from MK to the GF and then to the Polynesian. (about 15 minutes also). Same thing for the Contemporary and Chef Mickeys...take the bus to MK and then you can either take the monorail or walk via the pathway from MK to the Contemporary. The walk takes about 8 minutes and is very pleasant. Then, when you are done eating, go back to MK and hop the bus to POR. (or CSR)

Just be sure to leave adequate time to get from your resort to the restaurant. I like to have between 45-60 minutes to kill. I would rather be early than worry about being late.

Transportation ought to be similar. POR has four bus stops, and their buses sometimes stop at POFQ also. CSR has four bus stops and doesn't share with another resort. Depending on where you get on the bus it may take a bit of time to make the circuit. I agree, plan for 45-60 minutes for transportation.

Port Orleans is my vote.

We stayed at Coronado Springs in Dec 04.
Stayed in French Quarter in Mar 05 and then Riverside in Dec 05.

I liked the feeling of the resort better. Seemed a little more comfortable to me. We liked where the resort was located better. It doesnt seem as far away as Coronado did. We could see some of the high fireworks from Illuminations. Plus the boat ride to Downtown Disney was really cool and relaxing. Seeing the Treehouse Villa's was neat.

You cant really go wrong with any resort on property.

We like CSR, but LOVE POR. It is so relaxing and beautiful, plus it has the boat to DTD, which is a big plus. Can't go wrong with either. pixiedust:
