Actually, there is a little bit more to SC than that, and they have worked hard in the last year or so to spruce up their act after falling into the doldrums (through lack of investment) a couple of years back. Vernon is quite right, though, that they had some pretty negative publicity while they were going through that period. A good part of the SC experience is their shows - acrobatics, martial arts, dance, music and the grand finale each day, the Mysterious Kingdom of the Orient show, a 90-minute extravaganza showcasing a whole series of Chinese artists and acrobats. The food there is pretty good and there is a unique range of shops, while, if you opt for the extra guided tour, their guides can give you a really excellent inside view of China. A lot of the exhibits and miniatures around the park are pretty amazing, too, but this is really only a park for older children and adults who enjoy learning about other cultures. And China is a truly fascinating culture. If you have enjoyed the Wonders of China film at the Epcot China pavilion, you will probably enjoy Splendid China as a good half-day diversion.
