Hi guys! :wave2:

OK, confession time, I have never been on Crush....yet!

So I was wondering what it's like and whether we would enjoy it? :confused3

DD meets the height requirements but it does say not recommended for children under 7 and she will be just 6 on our next trip.

We like POTC and Big Thunder Mountain, but can't bear Toy Soldier Parachute drop *shudder* and don't want to waste time queueing for a ride which is going to leave us wobbly as jellyfish or green with nausea! :crazy2:

So, I am after your advice to help me decide whether to add this to my planner (yes, I've started already!) or wait until DD is bigger....

Thanks in advance for your replies!

:thanks:

Hi, I've not been on Crush personally but I have been told the cars spin in the dark and alot of people have said they would never go on it again. Like I say this is only what I've heard and not from personal experience, but going by what I've heard I'll be giving Crush a miss in October.

Check out this thread -- it might help you :thumbsup2

It is very fast and spins you around a lot and you're quite frequently on your side or going backwards down steep hills.

I'd maybe wait until your DD has tackled Indiana Jones and then do Crush as a step before ToT or SM/RnRC.

It's very fast and in the dark. So probably not ideal for most 6 year olds.

If you are prone to motion sickness DON'T do Crush. It's not very intense, much less than space mountains or RnRC, I would say almost like BTM, but it's terrible for motion sickness.
It's a spinning coaster, that means that while the car moves on the track, it also spins randomly. So it happens that while the cars turn right, it also spins counterclockwise, causing nausea.
I really like spinning coasters, but I cannot bear the nausea I always get. And I have no problem with Indy, SM or RnRC.

I've ridden it three times in all - it doesn't make me feel ill but I don't really enjoy it so it's not a ride I'll queue for - I'd only go on it if it was almost a walk-on which sadly doesn't really happen hence why I've only been on three times!

I'm the same as you, Elaine. Only managed to get on twice. As we make a point of doing it once per trip but won't go on again because of the queues. It's good fun but not better than BTM or ToT so I won't miss a ride on those for another go on Crush.

I'd be very disappointed if I didn't get to ride BTM or TOT at least once a day on a trip but as for Crush ..... I think I am secretly pleased when I see the queue and announce it's too long a wait for me! :rotfl:

My DH and DDs all like the ride so they queue - I use the time to go off and take photos or just enjoy wandering around. :)

my daughter has been going on crush since just before her 5th birthday but she is a thrill seeker and nothing phases her! she loves TofT etc, it does spin but i dont think its excessive and i can suffer from labyrinthitis so im sensitive to that kind of thing! my nephew went on it last august not long before he was 6 and came off crying :(

suppose theres only one way to find out! try it once!

We did it once on dd's 6th birthday trip and she wasn't sure about it, my mum screamed the place down :lmao: on our dec 11 trip we were lucky enough to get emh in the studios and rode crush 5 times in a row one morning :hyper: I love it but I love rides, dd likes RnR too but won't go on TOT so it really does depend on what she's already tackled.

If you do give it a go I'd sit facing forward for the first time at least, sitting in the back you're vertical going up some of the climbs. It's what I cal a tummy churner if you know what I mean x

Indiana Jones is far more intense that Crush, so I would let my DD on Crush rather than Indiana Jones.

My middle DD went on Crush when she had just turned 5. She didn't hate the ride but didn't want to go on again. My oldest DD was 7 and she enjoyed it but would far rather go on RRC.

I tried it twice but no...I don't like it! first time I had my eyes closed the whole way which made it much worse. It goes very fast and if you're going backwards it feels like you're upside down but you arent :scared1:

It depends how brave your DD (and you!) are. I also hated Indiana Jones but more because it hurt my neck, Crush is fine in that respect..just spinny o.O

I LOVE Crushes Coaster but mum HATED it, she came off white as a sheet!

Basically it starts off well and all pretty calm, but then proceeds to start spinning the shell you're in WHILST you are dropped down quite a steep slope (think of it as a mini roller coaster)... and then round and about.

Personally as I said, I love it... in fact it's probably one of my favourites, it's just the queue's put me off.

Thank you all so much for your replies!! :thumbsup2

I feel a little dizzy just reading about it!! :rotfl:

I think I may give it a miss - not too keen on the spinning idea, seems like tea cups on a coaster...?!!

Maybe when DD is older we'll give it a go, but for now it's not going on the planner!

Thank you again :flower3:

Thanks for asking this!

My OH was determined to get DD on this this year but thankfully she's just too short (and only 5) I get really motion sick on rides - I hate drops and spinning - can't stand waltzers! I took her on a tiny mini drop ride at legoland and we both screamed the place down!

You know, that's a brilliant comparison. If you don't like the Waltzers you most definitely WON'T like Crushers. Think Waltzers on wheels!

I certainly will not be going on it this year! even if the VIP shareholders tickets worked for it. I did it in 2009 and when we came off i cued for the cars ride and coulkd not take my eyes of the rubbish bin, felt sick for a while after! I might walk on and walk straight off leaving my 7 year old on the ride:rotfl::rotfl:

I am SO excited about FINALLY getting on this ride. this summer. We've been twice since the ride opened and I've never managed to get on it yet because of queues!

So - how is best to get on this ride without having to wait for hours? I can't really justify this as DD and hubby will have to amuse themselves whilst I queue for this!

I LOVE crazy rides - scarier the better!

If shes not keen on fast spinny rides then i would say no.

My dd will do most rides well actually she has been on every single ride at DLRP , we finally managed to get on at easter there was over 60 minute wait time nearly everyday, but one rainy afternoon it was as 40 minutes so while my DH and sons did cinemagic again we thought we would try it! she was ok but said she didnt want to go on it again! just like her reply to space mountain ( she was scared to go on that)

She said its a kids version (under the sea) of Space mountain!

Have a look on you tube as there are videos of what it is like in the dark and with the lights on and the making of it.

hth

Love Crush, it's one of my favourite rides, :cool1: but hate SM2 as it's no fun for the head (too many shocks) :(
