Does anyone else overpack for a disney trip?

No we are certainly over packers!!
I don’t know what we are going to do on our next trip now that we will only get 1 free bag each with SW. the 8 bags doesn’t account for our 2 Owners lockers and we do laundry every day in the room lol

too funny.....cost of baggage will exceed person tickets in some cases on SW now!

I'm lucky that I made my reservations early enough to get free bags for this trip....I may take advantage because last year I ended up with 13 lbs of candy (without even tryiong to TOT!!!) and it put my baggage over ALOT so I ended up carrying it - ugh!

Yes this trip in October we have two but flights hadn’t been released at the time for Spring Break so only one bag :(

That is too funny about the candy. We had DS’s in an insulated cooler bag and SW allowed weighing of it and it came out to 15.4 pounds!!!

We are kind of the opposite. We pack very little. Do laundry while there. I did start bringing an extra pair of shoes after getting stuck in the rain one year and my shoes got soaked.

The one thing I do bring extra is I bring a hoodie and a jacket that will repel rain. Once again, after that previous experience we do like to try to be prepared for rain. Although we go in the winter and there is usually very little if any rain.

Yep - this happened to us at US....3 days of wet shoes wasnt fun!

I have found that wearing different shoes helps me avoid blistersand sore feet....plus no worries about wet shoes as a bonus!

I envy you. A few of our friends are carry on only but I would be happy to knock it down to 1 bag each.

I waaaayyyy overpack for Disney. We drive, so it's very easy to do as we drive an SUV for 2 or 3 of us -- plenty of room for luggage. Between the drive and the time at Disney, I have 10 days that I need outfits for and I'll pack at least 4 extra shirts and 2 extra shorts/capris. I need 4 pair of shoes (3 athletic shoes to rotate through and a pair of hiking sandals for walking around the resort). And then there's at least 2 pair of pajamas, a swimming suit that will stay in the suitcase the entire time, a cover-up for said swimming suit; a sundress just in case we decide to get a little dressed up for a dinner (we never do), and a light rain jacket for quick runs from the room to the food court. And I bring too much of everything else as well -- sunscreen (I usually end up with enough for the entire summer), rain ponchos (I know we need to bring *some*, but I pack 4 or 5 for each person...including our adult kids who have separate reservations and pack their own stuff), every OTC medication you can think of, etc. And I know very well that we have a car and can run to W-mart or Target if we need anything so there's no need to bring *everything*. I've tried to cut back on what I pack, but I think it's a losing battle.

They are still your babies :)

What is your usual stay length??

Well, they are usually shorter trips. I could proably do about 5 days with the backpack though. All I need is a couple pairs of shorts, a Disney T-shirt for each day, socks & underwear of course, and then just the toiletries and sunscreen and such. Anything I bring to the parks must fit in a pair of cargo shorts or it's not coming. That's all I need. I will admit that I have had trouble getting those souvineirs home!

I overpack for every trip.
Same here, not just for Disney.

Overpacking for Disney tends to stem from having far too many printed t-shirts and clothes in general, and also because of the heat and humidity making me think I'll need more outfit changes.

I'm very much of an overpreparer, and I'd rather over than under pack whether it's long haul (like Disney) or short haul (to Europe). My worst nightmare is not having hold luggage and having to pack everything i need into cabin baggage. Fortunately not something I have to worry about for Disney!
