We are less than 35 days from our trip. DH decides that we should add a day to our vacation, which I am happy about. The problem is that he wants to add a day to our free dining package and we all know what happens to people who make changes to their packages at this point in the game....you loose all of your fastpasses that you reserved at the 60 day mark. Sigh. And I have good ones too including Anna and Elsa and the Mine Train. I tried to tell him that if we add this day the moment the CM goes in and makes the change it will completely erase all of our FP's and then they will tell us sorry for you bad luck, sucks to be you, and have a magical day. He says that will not be the case and "it's Disney" and they do not work that way. Clearly he is not on the disboards. I really want that extra day but I really don't want to tell my 8 year old that because mommy and daddy added a day to our vacation we lost her FP to see A&E. Is there anyway Disney can do this without me losing something in return? Have any of you had success with making changes and not losing your FP?

Follow up question: For those of you who called and had changes made to your reservation did it immediately wipe out your FP or was it something that happened like a few days later?

Can't you just add a one night RO reservation to the front of your stay and leave your FD package the same?

lol we actually already did that and are staying at POR on Aug 30th and then moving to CSR on the 31st to start our FD pkg. I actually suggested just add a RO one day after our pkg ends but he is wanting to have an extra day of FD if we are paying for one more night in Disney.

I'm concerned about this too. I need to add an extra park day but not a night. I had to stretch our vacation out an extra day to even get the A&E fp so it's imperative I don't lose it! Tomorrow is my 45 day out day. I thought about asking them to add it while on the phone paying.

I just wish they could figure out what is causing the system to do this and keep it from happening. Or in the meantime give people some kind of insurance that they can keep what they have already reserved. It's a steep price to pay when in the end you are just wanting to spend more $$$ at Disney lol

Just wanted to update. I called and added a day. All my FPs are still there and I just booked more for the additional day. Good luck!

I am so glad that everything worked out for you! :goodvibes My DH called tonight to add a day at the end of our FD pkg and also voiced his concerns about the whole FP+ disappearing act and the very nice CM that we spoke to said that the reason that this happening is when people are changing the category of what they are booking, for instance adding dining to your package. It essentially puts your ressie in a different bucket. But if your reservation is not changing what's already included then the FP will stay put. Not sure if this is 100% accurate but I could see where she was coming from. Either way we had our day added with no issues and all of our FP ressies are still showing and have not disappeared so fingers crossed that nothing changes! :thumbsup2

We added 2 nights to the end of our room only AP discounted room. Booked the same room category (garden). And all of our FP+ stayed intact. This was just last month.
