What's a Dole Whip?

I'm guessing the title says it all. Is it the pineapple sherberty thing? We have a place nearby that serves "Dole Whips" but I'm not sure it's the same thing.

It's not...especially if you get it swirled with the vanilla. I had a float last time for the first time in a long time (how many times can I type time?) and it was a little too much for me. The pineapple-vanilla swirl in a cup is perfection.

I got the float the first time I had it (with the vanilla/pineapple swirl). The liquid was much stronger than the the softserve. I didn't find it strong flavoured at all but DBF felt the pineapple juice was a little too tart for him so it may be better to opt for a non-float version to test it out. The lady at the counter suggested the vanilla/pineapple half-n-half and I think it was a great choice.

DBF's favourite food memories from WDW include Boma, California Grill and the Dole Whip. We were there for 7 days and ate table service every night and the Dole Whip outshone almost every meal we ate (not to say everything was bad, but it was just that good).

It's not too much pineapple, but the size (at least for us) is big ... we always split one cup of the Dole Whip and we've never mixed it with the Vanilla, but thanks for the tip!

There are actually two lines, the one that everyone sees outside of the Tiki Room and one on the back side of the same stand that is inside the waiting area for the Tiki Room.

Dole whips are bland and disappointing. There are much, much better treats!

They're cool, sweet and creamy. Kind of a cross between sherbet and soft-serve in terms of texture. I find it super refreshing and light.

I am SO not a fan of the float, however. The juice always makes my tongue go prickly...too acidic! If you like drinking straight pineapple juice, I'd say go for it, otherwise, just stick to the whip.

Do they have the vanilla/dole whip swril in Disneyland? Or is that just a WDW thing?

We had Dole Whips for the first time on our trip last week. I thought they were wonderful! So refreshing

My daughter tried the float, and I thought it was a little much with all the juice though.

We always get the dole whips, especially on a hot day! I have never heard of mixing with vanilla, sound pretty good though.
