What's a Disney Cruise like?

We are going on a 4 night Disney Cruise to the Bahamas in June and were wondering what to expect.

We have a deluxe ocean view room on one of the top levels. What are these rooms like?

We were interested in maybe getting one of those couples massage and facial sessions they have at the spa? Has anyone done that?

We heard about this Rainforest package where you pay $30 flat fee and have unlimited use of their steam rooms and also these showers that have different aromas in each shower room including a heated chaise lounge chair etc.... Has anyone tried this?

What are the must see and must dos on this trip?

Has anyone done the swimming with the dolphins excursion? How is it?

And any other advice you give will be appreciated since neither one of us has ever been on a cruise.

We went on a week long cruise on the Magic last winter and it was FABULOUS!!

We planned to go on the Magic again this winter, but we had problems using some free airline tickets we have. So, we had to change our plans to a WDW vacation. While we are excited to go back to WDW (we haven't been there in five years), we all are wishing we could've done the cruise instead. My kids said it was the best vacation they have ever been on!!

We had a deluxe ocean-view room and it was nice and roomy (even for four people!). We liked the big porthole.

We didn't do the couples package, but I did spend an afternoon in the Rain Forest with some friends I made on these DIS Boards. It was great! There are several different rooms to try (steam, sauna, nice showers). There are also heated stone lounge chairs that are wonderful to sit in and relax.

We didn't go to the Bahamas on our cruise, so I can't help you with the excursions.

Have a great trip!

Went on our first cruise in 2003 and it was great! I never thought I would like it because I'm not a big fan of the ocean but the ship is amazing. I never felt cramped or claustrophobic. There is so much to do on the ship too. You will definitely enjoy it.

Not sure, but sure am excited to find out in 9 months!! :Pinkbounc

[We had a Cat 9 deluxe ocean view a year ago on the 4 night Wonder cruise. We loved the room (we were on deck 2 midship) and the location was great. It was roomy, comfortable and the split bathroom was great.

I had the massage/facial combo and loved it. It was relaxing and worth it :goodvibes

Sorry, didn't do the rainforest, but it looked nice.

Castaway Cay was beautiful and we did some snorkeling there. We saw plenty and it was awesome.

As far as must do's--its different for everyone. Check out Barb's site for some recent Navigators. They will tell you some of the things that were happening on board, so you can get an idea what you might be interested in.

If you are interested in the Spa or Palo, definitely try to make your ressies as soon as they are open when you board....I think it's 1:00.

Have a great cruise! :flower: Hope this helps

We have taken 6 Disney cruises. Have 2 more booked. We LOVE the Rainforest. We have gone every day we are on the ship since our second cruise. Our only regret is that we did not go there on the first cruise. The cost is $15 per day, $8 on days you have spa treatments. The package is equal to one free day, I think. $45 on a 4 day. A bunch on the 10 day, :rolleyes1 but worth every penny. We did the Dolphin Encounter at Nassau. Hugging a dolphin is really amazing! :grouphug: We have also done the couples massage 3 times and tried some of the other spa treatments. We really enjoy the couples massage. Next cruise I hope to try the sea weed wrap. Have a great time!!

Our family went on our first DCL cruise in August 2003, we have now been on three DCL cruises, with number four planned for August 2006. These have been some of the best vacations we have ever taken as a family, even our teenage DD was impressed and can't wait to get back on the Magic in 2006!!!

We just did cruise #6 in December. #7 is booked for this September and #8 is booked for May of '06. We love cruising because you unpack once and get to travel to new destinations each day. I personally love sea days as a great time to relax and unwind. The other great thing about a cruise vacation is your meals are all taken care of and you don't have to bother carrying a wallet or purse with you. It's all good!

If you click on the monorailgreen info link below it will take you to our home page and then there is a link to our cruises if you want to check out some pictures.

You will love it!! The ship just takes my breath away when I first see her!
I just cruised RCL (NO KIDS ALONG) and it did not compare!! I am spoiled by DCL...I missed getting Icecream anytime I wanted!! Guess I am just a big kid at heart! ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo I missed Mickey and Minnie!

I loved the SPA!! Did the Aroma spa ocean wrap and massage.... :cloud9: I was weak when I got out of there...It made it even better when I went to get DD from the club and Cinderella was there reading a story and she did not want to leave. So I went to the adult pool and had a pina Coloda and relaxed for a bit!!

On thing you do not want to miss is SERENITY BAY at Castaway Cay! :cloud9: That is the adult beach on Disney's Island and it is heaven. Don't know if you have kids, but this worked well for us...We let them play on the beach :sunny: Till 11:30 or and then took them to lunch at cookies and by that time we knew there was a whale bone dig in the kids club at 1:00pm. They were all excited!! So we checked them in and got to hang out at the adult beach for a couple hours.... :cool1: Jimmy Buffet playing on the beach and it was not crowded at all...Water so clear and we saw starfish,Stingrays and lots of fish. Also have a konk cooler!! Yummy! :cool1: So try to get ther if even for 1 hour.

Also go to Palo the adult restaurant!! The best on the ship! The Chocolate souffle is too die for!! :cloud9:

Have a blast!! :earboy2:

Hey

It is hard to decribe what a DCL cruise is like. We are a young married couple w/o children at this time. We have been on 3 cruises and would like to go again very soon.

You do not have to be a Dinsey fanatic to enjoy this vacation. Disney know how to treat it guests and does a wonderful job on the Disney Magic and Wonder.

If you are looking for the best vacation you probably have found it. From the food, beverages, entertainment, activities and the spa it is all wonderful. You are about to experience a vacation that is as laid back or activity filled as you let it be. If you have kids you may have trouble getting them to spend time with you, the clubs are incredible.

What we have enjoyed the most is the casual nature of the ship. You can be as dressed up or dressed down as you are comfortable in most cases (formal night if youhave one is the exception).

You will have a great time, enjoy your time on the Wonder.

I'm not sure yet . . .but I'm so looking forward to April 17th when we board the Wonder for the first time! :cool1: :cheer2:

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Deck 9 by the Mickey ::MickeyMo Pool!! Soft serve in a cone or bowl with sprinkles!! Fresh fruit was also always available there!! :cloud9:

I am in a "category 9 Deck 2 Midship" too in March. Cabin 2070. Same one by any chance? You really liked the location? I wouldn't know, never cruised before.
Thanks!
