What's a DING?

Lurker here who's seen DING frequently in reference to air travel. It's not listed on the acronyms page? Would someone mind clueing me in? TIA!
 
DING is a free program from Southwest that you download to your PC. They then push travel specials to your machine during the day (the PC will ding just like their commercials). They have some real good deals.

if southwest does not fly to your area - maybe jet blue does?

I use southwest so I don't know that much about jet blue...

both airlines are budget. So they don't always appear on other websites.

the only way you can book southwest is through southwest website - I don't know if this is true for jet blue?
