What're ya cooking, eating, drinking and thinking about?

Tucson's nice but one day is a pretty short stay. If you're looking to do something, I'd recommend the the Sonoran Desert Museum. Lotsa people have heard about Biosphere II -- IMHO justa big greenhouse. The SDM is much more interesting.

Morning All

It's only Tuesday and already I'm thinking aout how all I want to do this weekend is have a great big lie-in. I plan to stay in my PJ's all weekend! These past few weeks my weekends have been ultra busy and I really need to rest before I hit Disney!!!
I'm chelating this weekend...so that's a drag..but It'll give me an excuse to be lazy.
Meanwhile, I'm drinking my protein shake (banana yogurt, peanut butter and apple juice + protien powder) and wishing I were still in bed:sad1:

I hate that kinda stuff. The environment where I used to work was very politically conservative and narrow (Think Bill O'Reilly before the naughty shower stuff) and people there always were emailing me crap. I could never figure whether it was meant to "convert" me (Yeah, right) or just get me PO'd. I never said anything but now I kinda wish I had. I probably would have quit sooner but maybe would have shaken up their fixed realities a little bit too.

What's funny is that the group that was on the receiving end of the offensive e-mail are about the most obsessively "P.C." group I have EVER run across. And when someone says something INNOCENT that could inadvertently offend someone there is usually an apology. This was blatantly offensive (well, to me, anyway) and nobody said a word. Or if they did they did it without using "reply all". Two other people agreed with her, apparently, and they did use "reply all" so at least I can avoid the zealots!:rotfl2:

Even more interesting, one of the people who agreed with her is one of the same people who basically pulled me aside and said I shouldn't mention that I am in favor of non-smoking establishments because some people smoke and I would hurt their feelings. OK. Whatever.

By the way, Congrats on quitting smoking, Mike!:)

Hmmm ... what's everyone having for dinner tonight?

We made ground turkey chili last night. It's finally getting cold enough for that!

I think I'll do grilled chicken fajitas tonight. Anyone use a grill pan? Wonderful invention when you don't feel like starting the big grill. How about a nice Dos Equis to go along with the fajitas? :drinking1

Worked my butt off on a great meal tonight!

My specialty!

I made reservations! :cool1:

Hope to be home in time to watch the Larry Craig interview, if not it's Tivo'd.

I want what your having...
(how come there's no smilie for a temper tantrum????)

I quit paying attention to Larry Craig. I was intrigued the first day when I saw on my Yahoo home page: "Craig says he will resign from Idaho seat." I thought to myself: "When was I in Idaho, and how did I get elected and not know it?!" (You see, my name is Craig) Am I having the only blonde moment today?

I'm gulpin' Pirins and whatever beer happened to be in the Refrigerator door. It's been THAT kinda day. :faint:

Cooking: Antelope meatloaf, baked potatoes, squash, & cornbread... Must be Autumn. (All in the oven -- smells great)
Eating: nothing atm.
Drinking: Special K protein water (ice-tea flavor from a mix -- I'm trying to go cold turkey on beverages in plastic bottles)
Thinking about: the library books I just checked out-- one looks especially good; it's called The Reincarnationist. Also to a lesser degree -- wondering how anybody could ever possibly boo Ellen DeGeneres (from one of the other threads ) in the World of Energy. I love that ride and she seems pretty darn kind and adorable too.

Ahhhh my favorite thread! :cool1:

Ate at work,

Drinking ....a lot! It's Friday for me, woo hoo! (And my wife seems to have gone missing again, if you kids see mom driving around in her bug let me know)

And watching Hyacinth Bucket on the tele!

I believe that is pronounced Boo-KAY! :lmao: I am fitfully watching Myth-busters.

And no you can not have a number 27 with a side of fried rice!

This is NOT the Chineese take-away!

Hmm...right now, I can't cook anything. I just got through with a party yesterday where I made Scotch Eggs(Hard Boiled Eggs wrapped in sausage then deep fried), Scramblewiches (Red & Green Peppers, Asparagus and Jarlsburg cheese in a baguette boat), and a BLT salad.
If that's not enough I had to clean up after everybody, grrr, other half really annoys me sometimes! LOL. But we had LOTS of coffee, after all, it was a coffee party.

Craig,

It's OK, I feel your pain! I hear the following all the time...

"I cooked you clean" or "You made the mess you clean" :confused3

What gives?

Yesterday I had quite the experience with an Angel Food cake! It was so bad I had to PM ConcK for advice! (Help! It's twice the size of the pan!) :lmao: But don't fret, it came out OK! Used Cool Whip and strawberry's for the frosting! YUM!

Scotch Eggs? Did you mention Scotch Eggs! :goodvibes Would you care to share your recipe for them, please?

Okay, for tonight ... Publix rotisserie chicken and caesar salad. Not too exciting, but easy! And the most important part -- a Pinot Grigio.

I'm cheating -- Frozen lasagna (Stouffers -- at least). Big ole' Coca-cola in a GLASS bottle (from Mexico -- made with cane sugar too; not corn syrup), and thinking about those poor folks in California.:sad1:

I'm thinking about California too, very sad! I've lived through Tornado's, Blizzards, and Hurricanes, but what is going on out there just seems unbearable. I don't know if I could cope with that.

Eating? We had leftovers.

Drinking? A nice box of wine! (Yep kids, Dad broke down and bought wine in a box!)

It's official! He's trash!
