Whatever Happened to Pennants?

I was just perusing Ebay and someone had some Disney World felt wall pennants up for auction and I realized it's been quite a very long time since I've seen pennants around (I don't go to many sporting events) and I started thinking they really made a cool souvenir, especially for kids to put on their walls (and adults too ) and I wonder what ever happened to them? Do they still have them for football and baseball teams or colleges even?

Excellent question! I can remember buying them on every vacation when I was a kid.

I have a college pennant around somewhere that I bought a couple of years ago, so at least a few of them still exist. I remember my brother collected pennants when we were kids. They were pretty cool - I wonder why they went 'out'?

My cousin's two boys collect them, they have gotten some at sporting events - and when I was at the world earlier this month, I found one. It came w/ a bumper sticker and a pin. I bought a couple and sent mailed them up to them. They have them decorating their rooms, but they are very hard to find.

I have a pennant from DW from the Empress Lilly, the boat that is now the Crab House, I think. It's very cool. I found it at a furniture store, just lying around on a dresser as a decoration. I asked the salesman about it, and he said I could take it if I wanted it. (I don't think he realized what he actually had!) I put it away now, though, so I don't have it on display. Very cool! I know they sure don't make those anymore!
