Whatcha reading?

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood --finished re-reading it the other night. Hard to believe it was published in '85 (IIRC) because so much of it still seems possible. Creepy story but well written.

Now I'm bouncing around through about 19 pages of samples on my Kindle, trying to find something that might hold my attention; no luck so far, but I'm sure I'll find something soon.

Waiting to get A Lion Among Men, the third of the Wicked books by Gregory Maguire, have it on order from the library.

Currently reading Once by James Herbert. He writes good stories but is a little wordy.

And several of you mentioned Duma Key, just an FYI in case you didn't know, he has a new one coming out next month, Just Before Sunset! :woohoo:

Thanks for the tip! I had to buy Duma Key so maybe if I get into my library today I can get on the list!:goodvibes

I'm slowly working my way through Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series; I'm on book three of six.

:woohoo: I didn't know that a new King book would be coming out so soon! Thanks!

Right now I'm reading Lifeguard by James Patterson and Andrew Gross. It's a quick read and a page-turner.

Kelly - Rumor has it that there is a 7th book coming out....sometime next fall/winter !!! With any luck I'll have finished the first 6 by then !

I'm just at the part in book 3 when Clair goes back to Jamie.....I think I stopped breathing for a minute !

I am looking forward to the next book! I'm actually hoping that there will be 2 more books. I shudder to type this, but someday the series will end. So I'm hoping that Gabaldon will remain wordy and will stretch the series into 2 more books. :)

Take your time with the first six. Once you finish them, it's a long wait until that new book comes out. One good thing about the series is that they are so rich in character and detail that you can easily enjoy a re-read of each book.

Finally reading Twilight and almost done, loving it!

The Shack, by William. Paul Young

I've just started it. DD read it and thought it was pretty good.

While at Vero Beach I read A Gift From the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindberg again.

I just love A Gift From the Sea! And I just read The Shack too and thought it was good once I was done.

Are the Wicked series the same as the book Wicked? I tried to read Wicked and couldn't get into it after having seen the musical. Just didn't do anything for me.

I just finished, Nobody Knows, by Mary Jane Clark. Great murder mystery. I'm a mystery buff, but I especially love murder mysteries this time of year.

I just picked up a copy of, Hide Yourself Away, by Mary Jane Clark. Another good murder mystery. :scared1:

I decided to read the series after both of my teen girls showed an interest in them. I loved the entire series...read through it quickly and now the youngest is about half way through the first book.

I am reading "Inherit the Wind". My son read it for school and he asked me to read it so we could talk about it after.

That's so sweet! I really miss the days when my son talked books with me. He's reading Chaucer and Shakespeare this year, so he probably won't do much pleasure reading at home.

Stephen King is one of only two authors that I buy rather then just getting them at the library, Dean Koontz is the other. :thumbsup2

Yes it is. Son of a Witch is the second book.

I am reading "Breaking Dawn" the last in the Twilight series....movie comes out Nov. 21!:cool1:

I just read all fourteen books in the Stephanie Plum Series and I have to say that Fourteen was my least favorite.

Yikes!

Started Motor Mouth by Janet Evanovich today. It's the sequel to Metro Girl. They are both easy reads and fun!
