Okay, thanks for all the ideas, etc and sharing.
For MIL, DH got her a gift card to one of her favorite resraurants, plus I got her the Better Homes and Gardens breast cancer edition cookbook(she loves cookbooks) and a gift card to Books a Millionas an extra thought. She takes my kids when DH cannot watch them on my work days. She even makes sure they get school done most of the time. She spoils them rotten by bringing them to the movies, etc.
I am very gratefulfor her.
My mom works fulltime and takes care of her mother, who is 92. She stayed with me every Friday for over 2 years while my DD10 went through chemo and although this was over 5 years ago now, I still fel very grateful that she made the time to stand by my side during the roughest journey of my families life, so far. Hopefully the last journey like THAT!
Anyway, I bought her a Max Lucado daily devotion book-short reading, uplifting, not too time consuming. I also got her a book to read for when she is ready and has time. It is called The Shack. I am reading it now, and it is VERY deep-sort of rough start, but good so far. Captivating, though.
I also got her one of those singing cards that you can record yourself. It has one of our all time favorite songs, which is also my homeschool namesake-"You'll Be In MY Heart" by Phil Collins. We each recorded something sweet(excpet DH's was a minor bit sarcasm, but they have that sort of relationship!), then the song plays!
Happy Mothers day to all you Dis momma's!!
