What your house look like?

It seems that no matter how many hours I clean and tidy my house, there is always some mess around. I have two kids (5 and 7) and they have friends around almost every day. Is it normal or is it just me who can' t keep the house perfect (or almost perfect would do...) ?

Mine is messy most of the time. Trying to keep everything spotless with kids is like trying to empty the ocean with a teaspoon.

Clear off the countertops and spray some Pledge in the air, anyone who comes in will think you were cleaning all day! :)

I wouldn't know what perfect looked like. :D

I have a 3 month old DS & a 5 yr old DD. My home is rarely ever in the condition I'd like it to be. Between taking my DD to classes and caring for the baby, along with all the other million's of things that get done during the day, I wish I had time to clean the house like I used to before we had children.

Oh well! The house will survive!

Like this. :)

Oh, you meant inside it! Never mind! :p

Thanks. :) We've actually painted it since that picture (the house, not the kid :P), so it's a different color. :)

Lucky4me....LOL...love the saying! The one around my house is:

"Cleaning the house while the children are growing is like shoveling snow while it's still snowing!"

I keep my house as clean as I can with an 8 year old boy and 97lb yellow lab in residence!

Steve- Great front porch! We love front porches!!! Our next house is for sure going to have a big ol' one!!!:)

LOL - Before I opened this thread, I thought it was going to be a thread of house pictures. At least one of us got it right. LOL :)

Nice house.

Mines tidy & organized - but I wouldn't call it clean (as in dust free....) I have a kitty & a DH. :)

Ours is a total mess with boxes everywhere!

Normally I keep it as clean as possible but there is no was to have a spotless house with my DH and DS.

It's a home. it's got that lived in look! You can tell I have a kid and a dog! But its comfortable and thats what counts.

Some rooms are worse than others - The kitchen has clutter around my desk, but is otherwise very clean- My bedroom is usually spotless (I have some weird thing with my bedroom - it's sacred to me, lol) Bathrooms are usually very clean. Some clutter in the dining room (which is usually only used for chess anyway)
Great room is pretty neat (rarely used, we live in the kitchen here)
Max's room is , well, a teenage boy's room. :p
I used to shoot for that totally spotless look- but fortunatly, I realized the importance of spending time with people instead of a dustcloth...

DW tries to keep it organized but I am not a big help:rolleyes:
I mean sometimes I leave stuff around instead of putting it away.
Other than that it is pretty clean. But of all the little old ladies I've hauled around in the ambulance, not ONE has ever said she wished she had spent more time cleaning and less time with her loved ones.

And neither will I.

Mom used to have an old saying (on a plaque) on the wall. It read:

My house is clean enough to be healthy
and dirty enough to be happy.

I had no idea what that meant growing up with a fastidious mother, but now with my own family, I do.

My house is pretty tidy its small so we use every bit every day so it is hard! I would post a pic but I do not know what site to use to download pics too. (now that the Dis websites is gone)

Spotless.

(don't hate me! :teeth: )

We have a tiny house and if it gets clutter, its pure chaos. So I make sure it never gets cluttered, and I'm a clean freak and have apparently passed on that gene to my kids.

usually somewhat messy. it is only really clean once a month when we have to clean up so the cleaning service can do THEIR cleaning...i love when the cleaning people come!
