I think I am going to buy @AKV 220 points and maybe 50-60 more on another contract. Just wondering what the best or is their a best year use month? We go in dec, may, sep, oct Fri-Sat.

I would suggest an April use year. With an April use year, you could bank until the following November 30. That should cover all of your vacations, including those in December. If you cancel a vacation 30 days or less prior to arrival, the points go into the holding account and can't be banked anyway.

If you are a new member, you may not have a choice. They are selling AKV contracts as the units are declared into inventory. They will make you buy what ever use year is avaliable at the time you purchase.

If you are an exisiting member adding on, you have a little more flexibility since they hold points back for existing member add-ons to match their existing use years.

It sounds like you would be a new member. You might try telling them that use year is a "make or break" for you. They may make an exception.

You could try resale, but that is a new property, so your choices will be limited.

I do agree with Carol, April would be the best use year for your specific scenario.

Good luck!

Ok, so if I bought Saturday what would the per point price and closing costs be?
Also would I receive the $500 credit card?

There isn't a May use year.

But if there were, that would work, too. :)

A total "duh" moment for me...I was flipping through the member handbook and thought I was on the page with the banking chart, but it was the chart that showed what the 7/11 month booking windows are. Sorry to cutakenta for inaccurate advice and thanks to CarolMN for the correction. :flower3:

The price per point would be $96 (with the $8 off per point). I'm not sure about closing costs as some people have reported not paying anything, while others have paid a fairly small amount -- so it may be based on how many points you're buying. In addition you would also receive one-time use developers points equal to the amount you are purchasing that need to be used within 12 months at SSR, DLR, or an II Exchange. There is also a $500 giftcard if you have a referral from an existing member.

If you make it clear to your salesperson (Guide) that you are only interested in a specific use year, I don't think you will have much of a problem. They will "find" some points for that UY.
