What would you take?

my skis
my ipod

if a tornado hits, you wont have cell phone service.
But I'd rather have mine with me so some dope can pick it up, take it somewhere with service, and use it.

I'd take:

My little brother...first and foremost
My teddy bear I've had since my DAY OF BIRTH (HA BEAT THAT!)
My American Girl Doll Kirsten (She's been one of my best friends in times of need)
My comforter (Possibly? It's as flat and small as a blanket almost)
Possibly a couple of my prom dresses? (Prolly not, but has anyone else thought about that?)
I wish I could say that I could take all of my pictures and sentimental things, but I wouldn't have time

So basically: Brother, bear, doll, comforter........More if time......

End.

I would take my.........
.Soft rabbit
.My collectable stuff
.Some games
And most importantly my two cats (I wouldn't leave them behind!!!!) :teeth:

I have actually had dreams where this stuff happens. Last time all I did was stuff books into a backpack.

If it really happened I would take my favorite books (in a backpack)
My kitten
My iPod
My laptop and notepad that has the plans for my books in it
All the photo albums I could carry with everything else
At least one stuffed animal
OUr Lord of the Rings extended trilogy and POTC dvd

I'd probably try to take the whole house if possible, but that's beyond my strength.

I would take:

1. My purse (money, phone, license, etc.)
2. My journals
3. My dog
4. A photo album (but if I had to grab one I really wouldn't have much time to pick out the one I wanted to bring... :teeth: )

And that's all.

Well, after going through hurricane Rita, I would take my cell phone, water, pillow, blanket, toothbrush, photo's and scrapbooks, and some clean undies, trust me, you will need them. They are scary!!!

I would bring;
1.scrapbook (pics of family and stuff)
2.Blanket my grandma made me
3.5 cats,dog and possibly turtle.
4.family (duh)
5.cell phone!!
6.ds
7.i would take my ipaq!! duh lol

Well where i live this is reality. we have at least one tornado every year around here. and not just like in the county i mean like a giant rotating wall cloud 2 miles away. what we do is, i grab max (stuffed dog i have had since i was one) the guinea pig/ turtle/ cat and family and head to basement.

picture albums (including my Mom's baby books and pics)

my paintings and drawings

my cell phone

my ipod

my baby clothes

Most of them for sentimental reasons. :goodvibes

I wouldn't stop to get anything. I'd just run!

I hear ya. Tornado Alley was my home for 14 yrs. :goodvibes Where do you live? I lived in NE Oklahoma, near Tulsa.

I would be smart enough to evacuate when I heard that a tornado was expected to hit. But although it is extremely rare, if the tornado was unexpected I'd grab:

My cats (duh, I would never leave them behind)
Lamby (my aunt gave me a plush lamb before she died)
Rainbow & Peeking (two beanie baby bears I've had since childhood)
My favorite baby blankie (I still carry it around for good luck)
My jewlery box (it holds my treasured nick-knacks)
My diary (don't want anyone touchin' it)
A photo of my family and home (for emotional and identification purposes)

You don't "evacuate". You head to the lowest, most central room in your house, and pray.

If my family could get down themselves;
My rats
Blankets
Laptop
A bin we have with water, bateries, flashlights, Crank radio, and peanut butter
and if I have time, get a couple pairs of pants/underpants

Exactly what I was going to say. I think, lil_minnie, you are getting a tornado confused w/ a hurricane. Tornados form really fast, and once they do, trying to outrun them would be futile. Plus, there usually isn't just one single tornado happening, so if you tried to "evacuate" you may very well just be heading towards another one.
