What would you skip?

As an adult, what attractions in IOA and USO would you skip if your time was limited, and not because you've done it a million times, but because you could have lived without it?

Well, I WOULDN'T skip Spiderman. But I might skip Posidons Fury (it was long, sometimes hard to see if you were stuck in the back, some special effects were sort of neat but the story didn't make a lot of sense to me....not my favorite and I might not do it again) Hulk, dueling dragons and that tall drop thing would make me sick so I'd have to skip those.

I enjoyed spending time in the market area around ...what is it?....where they have the fortune tellers, etc....

I'd skip Mythos; sorry folks, I think this restaurant is highly overrated.

For Universal, I'd personally not feel bad if I missed Men In Black next time. Wouldn't be heartbroken if I didn't see the Ghostbuster show (DON'T Flame me Fly Fly. It was a good show, I enjoyed it but IF I HAD TO MISS SOMETHING, this would be missable for me on a second trip...Still think the guy in the cowboy hat looks like the psycic John Edward....) Universal has a lot of good shows, rides, it's hard to say what to skip....

I LOVE the terminator 3D and ET, both very good and must sees. I haven't seen shrek yet or the new ride...Jimmy netron. If I had limited time, I'd focus more on universal studios rather than IOA, but that is just me....

Puffy! I NEVER skip Mythos!! I don't consider it a Universal trip without it! To each his own, I guess....

I would skip the shows because I'm not a show person. I guess it depends on what you like. My son and I are "thrill-a-holics" so we hit the fast and the furious first and on limited days we skip anything slow and long. Earthquake comes to mind!

Well, it sort of depends on what kind of attractions you enjoy most. Some people don't enjoy coasters so that narrows IOA down some. If you get motion sick that can narrow it down. Do you enjoy shows more than other types of attractions?

How limited is your time and are you staying onsite?

Mostly, I enjoy everything so it is hard to eliminate something!

Nan

IOA:
Storm Force (stand & spin for same effect), although it's nice lighting after dark; Unicorn (if you really love the big coasters); 1 Fish 2 Fish.
Gotta ride the Caroseussal after dark, 'specially if Christmas decorations are up!

USF:
Woody coaster (see Unicorn).

Pretty much everything else is worth a go. And I do still ride the little coasters now & then anyway!

A better question that what to skip would be... I am staying onsite (FOTL Woo-Hoo) and have from noon till close on Saturday and from opening until 4:00 on Sunday in January. Can I see and ride everything except the real little kid stuff in that amount of time? And I HAVE to do Jurassic Park at least twice because that is why I am going! And after I heard Fly Fly talk about Ghostbusters I have to see that too.

If you have FOTL, I wouldn't worry. You should be able to get it all done.

Bravo, Sinderella!! :teeth: Good choices!! ::yes::

Wouldn't be heartbroken if I didn't see the Ghostbuster show (DON'T Flame me Fly Fly. It was a good show, I enjoyed it but IF I HAD TO MISS SOMETHING, this would be missable for me on a second trip...Still think the guy in the cowboy hat looks like the psycic John Edward....)

  Oh no! John Edward!!! Funny thing is...the guy you think looks like him is the one I see almost every trip...and really, truly recognizes me. You should see him without the hat though! My cousin used to think he was kinda cute, but once he saw him without the hat...she went completely ga-ga. :rotfl:
I couldn't IMAGINE missing the show! Could you not feel my pain when the had cancelled all the shows 2 weeks ago? :faint:

Yes, with FOTL you will be fine. Just start out with the things that are your "must do's" and go from there.

You will have a great time!!

Nan

What would I skip???? Nothing!!!!! I love all of Universal too much!!!!!:D

I guess that isn't really helpful, is it?

I would skip the Beetlejuice show in a heartbeat. My toddler got antsy and had to leave the show and my lucky husband got to go with him. Usually we fight about who has to take my little guy out of shows, etc, but this time we fought about who had to stay!

That's about it--I like most everything else at least once. Well, Back To the Future I ONLY like once. MIB, Spiderman, and Dueling Dragons (saved the best for last...) I need to go on several times.

I have never had the pleasure of seeing the GhostBusters show. How long is it? and Where is it?

PS. I love Universals, and wouldn't want to leave out anything. I particularly enjoyed the monster make-up and special effects show!

AspiringCindy - The Extreme Ghostbusters Show is only about 12 minutes long. If you walk past Twister towards a dead end, you will come across a set that looks like the New York Public Library. The show is performed on the steps...therefore, it's an outdoors show.

In fact, I got sunburn from watching all 4 shows today...OUCH!!

This thread just proves everything is subjective.

I'd skip BTTF because it literally makes me sick. It's one of those simulators that tricks your brain into thinking it's going one direction when you really aren't.
If you ride BTTF, look down at the floor. And don't sit in the back. If you do, get ready for a beating.
Gosh, they need to tame down this ride. Parks tame down roller coasters all the time. Why can't they tame down this ride? It would be cool if it just turned with the movie. Instead, it's gotta shake you up like rocks in a tumbler.

rob-

I definitely have to agree with you on all counts. I would never skip the Beetlejuice show and someone else posted they would. It's a good thing there is something we all love, so none of us will be bored!!!:D

I have to agree with Robvia on BTTF. The first time I rode it I was in the front and it was AWESOME! The next trip I rode it in the back and it was horrible (and I love sim rides).

Lol,I just couldn't make a "skip" list but I can give you my personal "don't miss" list. But with Express (fotl) you'll probably have time to do all the rides you want and some of the shows.

IOA: Hulk, Spiderman, Popeye and Bluto's Barges, Jurassic Park, Dueling Dragons and Cat in The Hat.

Universal: Jimmy Neutron, Shrek 4-d, Men in Black(multiple times if possible) and Terminator 2-3D(which is an attraction/show and doesn't start until 10am).

If you get pressed for time I would put Twister and Posiden's Fury last on my list.

I'd probably skip Twister at USF and Posideon's Fury at IOA. I may be in the minority, but I like riding Storm Force. It's the teacups, but it sure is fun with the funky music. Ride it in the dark for a rather unique ride.

Oh, I'd skip the Flying Unicorn until the end breaks are less hard.
