What would you say...

I think many people treat the FB friend thing as if you should friend every person you have ever known-good or bad. I really do.

To build on this...I also think some people have a hard time "ignoring" people on Facebook. So you get a friend everyone type and an accept everyone type and you get a mom with her son's ex-girlfriend as a friend.

I ignore people all the time. I also always ignore games and gift requests and stuff like that. My dad on the other hand is in his 60's and new to facebook and not super internet savvy. He accepts everyone as a friend, even if he doesn't want to, because he doesn't want them to feel bad.

He also clicks on every stupid thing that people send him as if they would actually know if he didn't respond to their quiz or garden or whatever. Friday he clicked on an (IMO) obvious virus that someone sent through a FB app so Saturday he spent 7 hours ridding his computer of junk.

My dad would absolutely add one of my HS boyfriends if they asked, he wouldn't want to be rude.

I'm wondering what the DH's position on all this is. Does he know his parents are friends with this girl? If anyone is to ask them to unfriend her, it should be him.

Well seeing as he wouldn't be my DH after that I'd still say hell no to her being my friend.

Well, they've been together eighteen years. I think it worked out okay. Good people make bad choices sometimes and I don't think it's always that easy to just say "we wouldn't be married". I'm willing to bet he's a good person.

Isn't that the truth??? I mean, if I would treat you like the plague in real life, I dang sure don't want anything to do with you on Facebook, either. That's one reason that I don't have my maiden name on the thing. People who need to find me know how. The past is better left there - in the past.

I'm glad I accepted friend requests from some of the people I went to HS with who weren't very nice to me. They've matured, I've changed... it's nice to see that.

I've ignored plenty of people, too. But I figure if the person is willing to make an effort, it isn't hurting anything. And I can always unfriend them.

This story is odd on so many levels.

Yes....but Facebook is crazy like that. Sometimes I can't believe some of the requests I receive (or DH for that matter) or some of the people who get requests from my ex husband. So strange.

I'd just ignore her.

Yes, he knows. He was in the room when I read the friend request from her. I wasn't sure who it was at first. When the name finally clicked, I called him over and asked him if it was his ex. He said it was and that her picture was really ugly. :lmao: He wasn't making it up to be nice either. I can't believe someone would put up such an awful picture of themselves. She also had 3 last names, like she was collecting ex-husbands and wanted to advertise it.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:NOTHING against many divorced women (I'm divorced after all!) but she's probably trolling for #4!!!!
