What would you like to see at the Disney Deluxe resorts?

dreamalittledream- we too were in a lagoon/castle view room: Boca Chica #8427. the castle was to our left, the Contemporary in front of us, and the Polynesian to our right. we had a clear view of the castle. we were able to hear the morning opening ceremony and the afternoon cinderellabration/parade. we watched the fireworks, as well as the electric water pageant, everynight from the balcony.

I would like to see easier access to refill the refillable mugs. At the moderates/values you can go to the food court and fill them up yourself. At he deluxe you have to stand in line and not easy access to refilling stations.

We stay at the BC and the line a B&C takeout is usually long and you have to stand in line for people ordering food to refill(sometimes you can go straight but most times not), hurricane hannahs is always busy too.

Port Orleans is a moderate is why there was no closet.

We have always had a mini bar at BC but we don't use it.

A Hot Tub At The Poly!!!!

I SOOOOO agreee! I consider a hot tub a must for any hotel. Even though I'd love to stay at the Poly, for everything else it has to offer, I probably won't until they put in a hot tub. I also think CB needs to add a second, better hot tub. The first one just doesn't have enough capacity for the size of the hotel.

I'd like to see another hotel with something unique to offer like AKL has animals. I've thought maybe an Australian themed hotel with Australian food and animals would be cool, but maybe that would be too much like AKL.

What about a fish/Ariel/Nemo themed hotel with really cool aquariums everywhere?

What about tapping into a Middle Eastern themed hotel? Could offering a Middle Eastern themed hotel at America's premier tourist destination do anything to bolster our relations with this region of the world? Could it help to educate Americans about the amazing historical signifigance of this part of the world? What about something like an ancient Sumerian theme...complete with opportunities to experience aspects of ancient Sumerian life...As AKL makes you feel like you are in Africa, this hotel could make you feel like you are traveling back in time. I suppose they could do something similar with an Egyptian theme, or maybe an Aladdin them too.

definitely the wi-fi!!!!!!! and I'd like to be able to see my room bill on the TV like I can do at many other hotels.

ITA, these ideas are really cool! I think it would be great to put something like this near Epcot. Maybe one hotel with the aquarium idea, and a few others, to fit Future World; and another hotel for World Showcase, with each floor themed to represent a different country.

As for the current hotels, I'd like to see a table service restaurant in each of the All Star Resorts, instead of just the food courts (properly themed to each resort, of course).

Definitely, at the WDW hotels you're paying to be in WDW. If they were not on-property they would definitely not be worth anywhere near those prices. (But I love being on property, so of course I stay there anyway! ;) )

I would love to see some type of whirpool/jacuzzi tubs. Also Wi-Fi would be a nice add on.

A microwave. Even the Hampton Inns we stop at on road trips (for less than $100/night) generally have a microwave. And yes, I'm well aware of why Disney doesn't. ;)

A whirlpool tub.

Our standard lagoon view room at the GF did have a minibar, but I didn't realize it was there for a couple of days. And you had to request a key. We didn't, because nothing on the list of contents appealed to me.

A lot of the deluxes do have refill stations that are easily accessible like the moderates. AKL, Poly, Contemporary are all ones where I know you just walk up and fill up your mugs whenever. We really like that the one at the Poly is open 24/7 so when we get back from PI at 1 or 2 am we can fill our mugs.

Doesn't Beach Club have a new quick service place? Maybe you can refill your mugs there?

Thanks for sharing this important info. We fill our refill mugs a lot and I sure would hate to stand in line just to have them fill it for ya. We are staying at Poly, so this is good to know that they are open 24/7. I'm even more excited now about staying at Poly. Our first time there!!

The Yatch Club/Beach Club is the only Deluxe we ahve stayed in so I assumed they were all alike. I called Disney but she couldn;t teel me if they refilled the mugs at the new marketplace. Since it's part of the olf gift shop I don't know. I sure wish they would change that one thing. Otherwise it's great.

They do have internet access in the lobby.

We stay at the BC but I have thought so much about the poly. That is a drawing card to refill the mugs 24/7.

just wanted to say I read your tag line. It is so sweet. I lost my daddy 10 yrs ago this year and I agree no one forgotten or left behind. Keep him alive for the kids.

Wi fi, upgraded bath rooms, bigger tv's (the tv's at the Poly are older than dirt) better quality bedding etc.. I would also love to see a small bar in the lobbies (much like the one at the Grand Floridian) for resort guests only. We love the Poly but cannot go to the bar in the evening without stunbling over every Tom, Dick and Harry queing up for Ohana. We will get on the monorail and go to the bar (kids in tow ) at teh GF and listen to the piano player and have a glass of wine before dinner. It is civilized and the Disney deluxes need some more civilized spots!!

We stayed at the AKL recently and got a USAToday outside our door every morning. I don't know if this is exclusive to the AKL or what.

All you people asking for internet access, I'd ask for the opposite - NO INTERNET ACCESSES highspeed, lowspeed, wifi, nofi, I don't want it! I'm on vacation, I don't even want to see a computer!

I like the idea about a small lobby bar for resort guests only. I never had a problem getting a drink at the Swan, and recently at the AKL, I was too tired chasing my 2 year old around to go looking for a drink, but I can see how it might be a problem at the Poly.

How about laundry services? Do they pick it up and drop it off in your room? My most recent stay was short enough that we didn't need to worry about it, but I didn't notice a laundry bag or anything.

Oh, here's something I haven't seen in other hotels, but will be pretty soon I'd imagine. High Definition TV's. The normal sized ones aren't much more expensive than regular TV's and in a few years everything will be broadcast in HD, so these hotels better start buying them!

You can now refill mugs in the new BC store. There is a self serve area which is a nice plus for that resort. Personally I'd like the same basic amenities that I can get in a Holiday Inn Express--free wifi. In this day and age there is no reason for the inflated price tag attached to using internet service in the hotels. Never really thought of the pay per view since I have DVC and we have VCR or DVD players and can get the movies in the gift shop to watch.

Internet access is a big one. Also better cable, it is impossible to find anything on that is worthy of falling asleep to. DH and I always watch TV before bed! A couple movie channels or something would be nice.

After staying at a moderate and finding it just as comfortable as a Deluxe I doubt we will be at a Deluxe anytime soon. I just feel no need.

BTW, At both Poly and AKL we had USA today's on our doorstep every morning.

thanks all of you this is a great post. We are staying at the AKL, and I was wondering if I could still get a newspaper with coffee in the morning....
just one question though, did you stay in a standard room, or was it concierge? :flower:

We recently returned from the WL. I would love to see a larger bathroom and vanities with drawer space in the area outside of the the bathroom. We always feel as if we have to pack up toiletries each morning before the maid arrives. Drawers would offer nice storage space. Sheets with corners!
