What would you donate for a $5.00 scrapping gift?

Our school has a theme basket fundraiser. Each class is assigned a theme and the parents are asked to donate something related to that theme. Everything goes in a basket and the baskets are raffled off at parent/teacher conference nights.

My daughter's class theme is Father's Day and my son's is scrapbooking. I'm going to donate a $5.00 item to each. If we hadn't just finished one school fundraiser, a Girl Scouts fundraiser and I wasn't in the process of buying several teacher gifts, I would probably make them 10.00.

Anyway, what do you think would be a good thing to donate to the scrapbooking basket?

I think some stickers would be a good idea too. Maybe a mini punch of some sort.

In addition to the above ideas ... eyelets, brads, die cut, fabric, ...

Adhesives are always needed . . . . use your 40% coupons from Michaels and you could pick up a bunch of stuff.

Or, an assortment of cardstock??

Good luck!

adhesive! with refills if you use coupons!

You know those little white alphabet and number beads? Those are very cheap

Contact any and all LSSs in the area and see if they are willing to donate ANYTHING including coupons

Use your 40% off coupon and get something that is almost $10 for the price of 5!
(I bet todays paper has a coupon for tomorrow for 50% off at Mikes!)

Oh wow! Thanks for all the great ideas! I didn't even think about using the coupon. Thank you!!

I was just at Michael's this AM and they have great scrapbook paper/diecut kits for only $4.99. You could get a school themed one & that would be cute. The stickers were 25% off.

gel pens or markers (the nice kind, not washable markers)
stickers
remnants of fabric-these are cool to use as embelishments- i got some remnants that were expensive
at regular price, but only 50cents on sale at
jo-anns.
father's day

tees for golf balls
golf balls
fun packaged food

look around at your dollar store... they have some good stuff...you just have to know what to look for.

I was a bit startled when I saw the title of this thread! I thought that you were a Mom to a child in my son's class and were venting!

I am putting together a scrapbooking gift for my DS's teacher, who is having her first baby next month. I asked for donations from the families/parents of the kids in the class of no more than $5 per family. Out of 18 children I have gotten a grand total of 4 donations... oh well. Good thing I've been buying stuff every week with my (and my neighbors)Michael's coupons. At least I will still be able to put together a nice gift for her.

In answer to your question, YES, I would donate $5 for a scrapping gift!.......................P

Hi pjlla

The question was not would you donate but what to donate. :D

I'm sorry you didn't get many responses; sometimes the amount of requests for donations that come home from school can be overwhelming and people must choose which ones to donate to.

At our school, the home and school organization pays for teacher gifts such as yours, new baby or other occasions. Maybe you could check with your home and school or pta and see if they have any funds allocated for that and get a donation that way?

Thanks for the replies everyone! I used my coupon and let the kids pick out some stickers (they picked birthday and family type ones) and got some adhesives as well.

Thanks again!
