I would do SSR, pay for one night with cash (preferably the weekend night) using the DVC discount, and bank the points for next year.

Why not try both??? Disney will move your luggage for you...you only have to move your family!

Thanks everyone for your input. Seems to be a split decision. The only thing I know is that there will not be a split in our stay.

Was talking to DH about picking up two rooms at a value resort for the Saturday night we arrive, and then moving to DVC on Sunday.

He informed me that he didn't plan on moving. We should either just use points (no way!) or pay cash for the room.

I can't even imagine what 2 bedroom would cost. Even with 25% discount!
