I've posted before about our star-crossed YourRide experience last October, (I'll put a summary below) but with the recent staffing change at YourRide - Rabbit was apparently replaced by Thom - should I consider using YourRide again this October-or use Tiffany, HappyLimo or some other? Thanks for all your input!
Here is what happened last October:
We made ressies by email, and by phone with Rabbit. Everything was confirmed in email.
Things began to unravel when Jimmy, our driver was about 15 minutes late. No big deal, he did meet us in the baggage area eventually but we were concerned when we arrived to see all the other "limo/towncar" drivers already there with their name placards for the people they were picking up. We soon began to wonder if we'd have to take Mears (the horror!) after all! Jimmy told us he recieved some bad info from United on our arrival time and so was late.
Our driver, Jimmy, was very good, and we thoroughly enjoyed his company on our way to the AKL. And he did have the cold water we requested waiting for us in the towncar. However, we reserved a limo, not a towncar (I wanted to surprise my DW.) I'm sure that mistake was not Jimmy's fault... he's a driver not the scheduler. Even so we were looking forward to a limo ride. The towncar was very dirty. Soiled. But even a dirty towncar is better than Mears. But we were still disapointed - and most people would be to - you expect a shiney limo to pick you up and instead ride in a dirty towncar.
When we arrived at AKL, the disapointment continued as we were not allowed to pay for the trip with a credit card (as we had requested by email), causing some very embarassing moments at the AKL while we scrounged for adequate cash to cover the trip. While DW and I were emptying our pockets (we don't like to travel with much cash) the concierge rep who was going to take us upstairs politely stared away at nothing, silently wondering if we were deadbeats.... not fun.
We had previously confirmed all these details with Rabbit by email beforehand. Unfortunately, most of the arrangements were not carried out. Very disapointing.
Knowing all this, would you try YourRide again? Should we give them another shot or switch to a different limo service?
