What would you do?

We usually do CRT or BOG, not both. If you have to choose between the 2 and the kids have never been there before do CRT. I mean it’s Cinderella Castle! It doesn’t get more iconic Magic Kingdom than that! I also love Garden Grill in Epcot if you’re just going to do one more dinner. My kids do love Sci Fi though 😀. In Animal Kingdom do Yak and Yeti or Tusker House.

BOG if you’re ok with the menu. It’s a must do. Consider Steakhouse 71 and Topolinos. CRT is a waste of money without the character interaction. Book Oga’s Cantina and Space220 lounge (watch recent reviews).

Don’t book Space220 dinner (steak was chewy and hard to cut; missing special order dessert; no birthday acknowledgement). That was about $100 more than BOG ($370) and it took 2.5 hrs. Ohana was horrible (look at TripAdvisor reviews; it was our top 2 second to Boma when they served hot skewers) and worse than Space220.

Just to echo what others have posted, doing both CRT and BOG is over-kill. If you need a castle fix, pick one. Our kids (boys 7 & 10) really enjoyed Garden Grill, Sci-Fi and T-Rex. None of those will win a fine dining award but they are places that the kids still talk about. We tend to do only one character meal per trip, then do a mix of the lower price point TS & QS. We would not hesitate to go back to the Plaza or Yak & Yeti, either.

If you want something fun for the kids, I’d consider Teppan Edo. My son was so entertained our first time there, he could not stop laughing. And the food is great. We now dine there twice every trip because once just isn’t enough for us.

As you can see, everyone’s “must do’s” are different. If your “must do’s” are both CRT and BOG, you should do both- especially if this is a one and done trip for you.
If you’re still unsure, maybe watch some videos and peruse some menus to see what you might want to do or skip. If your kids have their heart set on both and you can afford to do both… then do both! It’s about the kids after all! In their eyes it’s all magical 🥰

If you are able to score a reservation at the Space 220 LOUNGE you can enjoy the cool factor but will find a much more affordable menu. I also think you can't beat Sci-Fi for the ambiance, fun and affordability... it's burgers and shakes, no fine dining menu here... which is fine with me LOL

I've eaten at BOG many times when it was serving QS, not the fixed menu so I can't comment on that food. I'd usually head for one of the smaller side rooms, but if you are in the big ball room, it's like being in a glorified airplane hangar! And is it loud!!

For the price, I'm with others, CRT is iconic and you can never go wrong there if you want something special. Is it worth it purely for the food, I’d say no... but lets be honest, that's not why people book it... they go there because it's the castle!

Topolino's breakfast was our favorite, both for food and experience. Highly recommend. It was the only prix fixe menu where we got a meal that was worth what we spent (with the others, we felt like the price we paid was at least half, if not more, for the atmosphere/experience). The food was amazing and the character interactions were great. Bonus - it's not in a park so it can be done on a non-park day and not take up park time. We did ours on check out day.

my best advice is research. Read reviews and choose from there. I agree with the above regarding BOG, the big deal is scoring the reservation..way more than the experience. Its a cool well done likeness of the ballroom, the room with the rose is neat, thats it. Food is good but overpriced. Loud..think Fancy meal and prices in a cafeteria. Its a setting not an experience. Define whats special and fun for you and choose from that if that most important.

I can't say what I WOULD pick necessarily - that's a hard one - but I can say what I WOULDN'T pick again: Le Cellier or Be Our Guest. Be Our Guest is worthwhile for the atmosphere, but in my opinion not for the food. So if you've never been before, or if this trip is a one and done, my answer might be different. But if you've already seen the inside of the restaurant, I don't think it's worth a repeat visit.

You know what? I regret not dining with my goddaughter at Cinderella Castle during one of our two trips! Budget was too tight to do it comfortably, and I thought the princesses might be awkward, and the food might not be good enough, but looking back...I wouldn't be any worse off $ right now if we'd gone for it. And even if it wasn't perfect, I don't think I'd ever regret it. It's the castle.

BOG was great the first time we did it, 2nd time not so much..food is ok but a one time experience there is worth the expense... Sci Fi is just OK, we love 50s Prime time when in Hollywood studios, California Grill is probably the best out of the places you listed....Ohana is a pretty cool p[lace with good food for the kids to experience

How old are your kids, and are they adventurous eaters?

And what has happened to BOG in the past few years ? :(
We last went a few years ago and it was amazing! Very quiet ( not sure what the room was called, it had the changing picture...), food was excellent, and we visited and had pictures with the beast!

I feel like it’s preference. We have a princess loving 5 year old girl who really wanted to do both castles. So we are. We are doing CRT breakfast though to save a little bit.

Depends on the ages/interests of your children. If you are looking for good food-- Narcoossee's, LeCellier, Via Napoli, LaTratorria; Boathouse; Steakhouse 21 characters/atmosphere Cape May (if characters return), Crystal Palace, Tusker House. Hollywood & Vine.... Unfortunately great food and great atmosphere/experience don't very often go together at WDW. Except Topolino's maybe.
