I know these can be fun...

I got an email coupon for a free photobook. Hey, why not? What I can't decide is who it should be for. Here's my quick options:

1) DW & my time together. We've celebrated our 28th anniversary earlier this year, so I think it would be a good gift (I already purchased a tablet for a Christmas gift). BUT, there's not a lot of pictures of either of us. Most of our pictures are of the kids (who of course would be included in the gift).
2) DS is a HS senior. We have a lot of pictures of his soccer career (spanning 14 years). Thought that might be a good gift.
3) DS has been dating the same girl for three years. Thought it would be a nice gift to give to either of them. DS (and us) have already bought her Christmas gifts.
4) My mom. Who gets emotional and likes these things

We also have an older DD and a younger DD. I lean toward #1, but not sure if I have enough pictures of just us. Maybe.

Thoughts?

I vote for number four because as a Mom it would send my heart soaring, maybe mention it to your wife you are thinking it would be nice for your Mom before making the decision so no unruffled feathers.

Mom

Trust me, do as many things for & with your mom, while you can. There will unfortunately come a day when you'd give anything for one more day.

I love the idea of giving it to your Mom. :lovestruc If not, give it to anybody else on the whole face of the earth OTHER than your DS's girlfriend. There's no way to know how long the relationship will last and if it devolves, possibly with acrimony, it would be the last thing she'd probably want.

If you don't really have enough couple's pics for #1, I would go with #4. Granted, I have practically no pictures of my mom, who hates being in pictures, so it wouldn't work for me. :o

I use almost all of the offers I get for variations on #4. The moms (mine and DH's) appreciate photobooks so much more than I do, definitely more than the kids ever would - I've already got a box for DD20's high school yearbooks and other keepsakes, I don't want to add another photobook to it! - and it makes for a thoughtful gift for people who by virtue of age and relative financial comfort can be hard to buy for. I'm actually working on another one for my mother right now, because she's in a nursing home for at least the next few months and her older "brag books" were the only purely decorative thing she asked me to bring for her room.
