We have 5 full days at the World, have been before several times-would you spend 3 days in the parks and 2 days relaxing or 2 days in parks and 3 days relaxing (water parks, hotel, shopping, doing whatever at our leisure no parks) Thanks for your input.

I would do 4 days in the park and 1 day relaxing!

Since we have APs I think we would even do a 1/2 day in the parks rather than skipping them completely for more than 1 of the 5 days.

Disnee Dad Says.........................................I'd say do five days in the parks! This isn't Hawaii, it's WDW. If you need time to relax, sleep while you swim! Even better, eat and swim and do laundry and swim while you swim! We are a bit commando so on a five day trip we would probably do 8 days in the parks and -3 days of sleeping and breathing and other useless habits!

We normally do half days at the parks - we will head out in the morning for about 5 hours and then back to the hotel. If we feel up to it we may go back out in the evening. We never take one full day to relax.

We'd do 5 days in the park with odds n ends on the days we arrive and depart: shopping, character meal, visiting other hotels etc.

They don't call it park hoppin' for nothin'!:jester:

Day 1- arrive, rest, swim, shop, etc.

Day 2-5- Hit the parks commando style!

Day 6- collapse at home and put off everything I have to do for a week...

Ok I'll be different. I am planning our next trip to be completely relaxing. We have 2 DD ages 9 & 6. We have done the parks and they liked the pool at the hotel the best. This next trip we are looking to stay at GF and I will NOT make them go to a park everyday like I usually do. DH will be allow to play as much tennis as he wants. I'll probably sign the girls up for the pirate cruise and the tea party at GF. Doing the parks everyday is too stressful and I don't want to come home feeling I need a vacation. I would say if you feel you have to do a park everyday just go for a little bit. And make sometime for yourself! I know my family appreciates it when I do!! :)

I would do 4 days in the parks and 1 day relaxing.

We like to take the first day (when we arrive) and last day (that we leave) to do the shopping. The day of rest would be for water park or hotel pool and miniature golf. If you are going to AK, use the shorter hours to give you a free evening too, instead of park hopping.

for that short stay...i would do 4 days at the park and 1 relaxing day.

DisneeDad, I love your strategy! You know, I think that's how we'll do everything (except sleep while we swim -- as parents of a 7 y/o, we sorta have to keep one eye open in the pool--but then, some people sleep with their eyes open. Hmmmm...).

Another vote for 5 days COMMANDO STYLE!

When we go to WDW, it is a very *active* vacation. When we go to the beach for a week - THEN we *relax*! Just our personal preference though!

If I were FORCED to relax while at WDW, I'd probably go with the 5 half-day plan....or all 5 mornings and 5 nights in the parks, but take my r & r during the afternoons.

we always do 4 days in the parks and then a day or two to rest depending on how long we stay.

Disnee Dad says............................With a little duct tape and some floatation devices you needent worry about the little ones.
On our last trip we did extra breathing for seven days before we left, and it took a little work but we didn't have to breath for nine days! Gave us extra time to eat, and that was good. The trip before we tried not to eat, but then you get to EPCOT during the Food and Wine Festival and you snack a bit, just a little, cause we were trying not to eat. Then you hit some of the booths where you have to try two things. Soon we were makeing ressies all over EPCOT. Don't try the don't eat plan!

Ds and I are going over Mother's day weekend for 5 days. I am planning on 2 days in the parks. Sunday we will hit EE at MK, AK and MGM. Then on either Mon or Tues we will do Epcot all day. Since this is a school day (and we homeschool) we will hold classes there. I just bought a map of the world at Borders today to take with us. Great laminated, folding map that we can carry with us so where know where in the "world" we are. If, for some reason, we do not get to do all that we want in those two days, we'll go back a third day. No biggie. I'm going to roll with the punches this trip.

LOL!!!! ROFL!!!!!!!!:jester:
we only take a day of rest if we are there longer than 8 days!!
But we do take rests in the afternoon.....hour or so to swim.
Even on our arrival & departure days...we plan a character dinner or breakfast.
Got to get as much Disney as we can !!!!:D

I say do all five days at the major parks. If you need to relax just go to World Showcase in the evening.

...or if you need to relax, head back to your room a little earlier one night, and just lie around, get a good night's rest...

Here's one for DisneeDad: does your trick also work for sleep? If we get, oh say, 4 extra hours of sleep per day for a week before we leave, can we go without while we're at WDW?

Oh, and what about potty breaks! Wouldn't it be wonderful not to have to STOP and hunt down the nearest bathroom when it's the least convenient? (but I don't know if I'd want to spend the time peeing that much at one time...)

I am planning 4 days in the parks and 1 day rest, with daily pool/nap breaks. However, if my DDs (or I) need more than 1 day rest, then I will deal with it and use unused tickets on a later trip. Actually, real plan is 1 1/2 days in MK, 1/2 day in AK, 1/2 day in MGM, 1 day in Epcot, and 1/2 day adults only in Epcot (dh anf my favorite park).

Again, plan is basic, and we will see what DDs really want! This trip is for them, not us.

We are sorta like Disnee Dad. We love to stay in the parks. However, we do occasionally take rest breaks, but only in the afternoons and then we go again. One of our favorite things that we like to do when we aren't going to the parks is to drive around to the other resorts and see what they are like. We did this the last time we were there and our DD's picked the next resort we are staying at. (We thought it was only fair, we had picked the first three times!). There is always lots of new things to see and it's kinda fun to do that on our going home day. It makes the day seem a little less sad!

Above all, have lots of fun whatever you decide to do!
