I have a coworker that is looking into going with her family to Disney next year. She doesn't have a lot of knowledge about Disney and she's the type it would be easy for people to take advantage of her. I've recommended her checking out Dis, but she doesn't do a whole lot on the net short of checking e-mail. I would like to make her a planning notebook to help her get started. What you put in it?

When I run across friends and family that have never gone, I show them my passporter book. For me it has been an invaluable planning tool and a very good place for newbies to start. It is especially good for those who are not too tech savvy.

Buy her a copy of the Unofficial Guide or the Passporter, give it to her, and leave it at that.

Answer any questions if she asks, but don't make her a planning notebook or overload her with information. I understand your motivation, I really do, but there is nothing more irritating than having someone try to plan your trip for you - no matter how well meaning they are.

I do have to ask: when you say, "she's the type it would be easy for people to take advantage of her." what do you mean by that? How do think that she will be taken advantage of?

Scams on tickets or something like that.

I gave her something that she likes I figured it out shortly after posting.

It's not that kind of planning book that I was talking about either. It was more of a information book. With ticket prices, and height restrictions etc. She likes what I gave her. She was also the one that came to me asking for help.

:) I too like the Passporter because of the way it is organized and written, and there are pockets in the back for your paperwork, plans or souvenirs. I am glad she liked the info you gave her and hope she has a great time planning. She will be so glad she went with a plan.
