What would you do??

We got a pin via email yesterday and I can't choose AKL club level or GF standard room. It will be just my husband and I and we will not have a car. Please help!!

We've stayed at both resorts (although not CL at AKL) and they are both great and I have read nothing but rave reviews about AKL CL . But with that said, if I had to choose between the two, I would go with the GF. We love being close to MK and it's great having the monorail for quick access to the park as well as to the CR and Poly for shopping and dining. Plus, the rooms at the GF are quite a bit larger than at AKL and even though it's just the 2 of you, it might be nice to have a little extra space . Good luck deciding, but I'm sure you will have an awesome trip no matter which resort you choose .

Stayed at both, though not CL at AKL......had Savannah view.....

Personal opinion: Didn't care for AKL at all.....remote.....food not to our taste and long walk to the room and very few animals at any time...

GF....lets say the better of the pick though again, not a favorite of ours but we'd pick it just on location alone over AKL....like the MK area, lakes, and access to the monorail to visit the MK resorts and the boat to FW and WL....we prefer this area over the EPCOT area resorts......

Another vote for GF here too. I have stayed at both and while they are equally awesome resorts with no car and just the two of you I would go for GF and the atmosphere.

GF, AKL holds no appeal to us and it's way too isolated. As others mentioned justhop on the monorail and you have a ton of dining to choose from not to mention grab a launch at the CR to the WL for even more dining.

GF standard! It is such a nice reort. The only negative IMO is the parking but since you don't have a car that shouldn't matter.

I'm the minority that would do AKL hands down. We did not find it isolated or long travel times or any of that. We also felt there were lots of animals and we got some very good pictures from our balcony. We also vastly prefer the themeing of AKL to GF, but that is something that everyone has to decide for themselves.

Another vote for GF ! ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS RESORT!!! it's gorgeous, the CM's are wonderful and friendly (and NOT stuffy !!) you are within a monorail ride to go eat at MK, the CR and the Poly..... you can take the monorail to the TTC and transfer to an Epcot monorail. It's just SO easy to get everywhere. We absolutely loved it !!

While I do not like the resort location of AKL I would rather stay there than GF because of the CL, you can book the early morning safari and that was amazing!

GF would be my choice for the $$. You can always get deals to stay at AKL + you will have the monorail for more dining options.

Agree completely. GF is meh. Nice, but never did get the great appeal. Only major benefit is proximity to MK and ability to get to Epcot without a bus, but nighttime monorail service cutbacks have mitigated that. There definitely are more dining options at the GF (and even more if you add the other monorail resorts).

That said, I like AKL MUCH more as a resort. Quiet, but with plenty to do. Animal viewing with night vision goggles is lots of fun. Also, Jiko is our favorite restaurant on property. So, add club level with breakfast, evening appetizers, free cocktails and other beverages, late-night dessert and aperitifs, and it's a clear winner. You do need to make a hike back from all of the parks (although AK is a quick trip) to get the CL benefits. If you do AKL CL, do the sunrise safari.

AKL is my favorite resort but it's not all that convenient. Unless you're taking a trip where you don't mind possible bus issues, go with the GF.
