What Would You Do?

Ok, so we have two rooms. One under my name and one under my mom's name. (I booked and paid for both; we surprised my parents with this trip.)

One night, I am taking DM to Akershus and DH is taking DF to Biergarten. When I made ADRs last week, I didn't think anything of it and put both ADRs under my room confirmation number since I'm planning the whole trip.

Then, after reading some posts on here about WDW cancelling ADRs in that type of situation, I called yesterday and had a CM tell me that yes, I need to cancel and re-book one under my mom's name/room confirmation number.

Although she just cancelled it, she couldn't give me the same time and said there was no way to just transfer it. I lost the original ADR slot and had to take a little later time. Not the end of the world, but it put a damper on my plans.

But now, the ADR for the guys at Biergarten is still under my name. I've spoken to several CMs, and they all tell me that they can't change it over, would have to cancel it and re-book, etc. I'm worried if I call back, they'll cancel it and not get the same time, which would completely ruin our plans. (Their meal is at 7:30pm, ours is at 8:15pm now. The guys are going to eat, and then go find somewhere hopefully near Norway to stake out for Illuminations for us to rush over and meet them.)

Would you worry about changing the ADR over, or just show up with DH and DF and explain what happened and check them in myself? I don't mind bringing a print-out of my room confirmation to show that DH is on there, under the same number.

When did dining at WDW become such a big hassle? They need to figure out a system not to delete ADRs for those of us in our situation that really did have two dining parties; I understand people out there double book, and it's because of them that those of us with good intentions get the short end of the stick. :headache:

I would check your hubby in at Biergarten (without cancelling it - don't want to lose your time) and then go to your ressie early. I bet you'll get in early and it won't matter that much that your ressies are 45 min apart.

Another thought is that you could call and book a new biergarten under DH or DF's name and then go back and cancel your other ressie. This way you don't risk losing your first ressie in case you don't get the second one.

Thanks so much for your opinion!

I think I will just go and check them in, then head over to ours early and see if that helps.

If I re-book the guy's ADR, the earliest time is after 8pm, and they're wanting to make sure they find somewhere for Illuminations as that is our only night to watch the show. (DM's fav.)

So, I think I'll just leave it, and go with them to get them set and head to Akershus early. Maybe a little pixie dust will get us in there a bit earlier so we won't have to rush, rush, rush to make Illuminations.

Thanks, again!

Maybe I missed something, but you don't need to check your dh and df in. I don't really think it matters whose name is on the ressie at check in. I have checked in under my dh name and no one asked any questions. I think maybe you are worrying too much.:)

This is probably true, but given that one dining reservation is 45 minutes after the other, not a bad idea to go ahead and walk to the earlier ressie together to make sure no issues arise there.

Another thing to do is to check back and see if you can get an earlier time for your ressie. Things open up all the time - you might get lucky!
