I've been away from the Boards and all things Disney for months because DH was very sick. He is now well on his way to recovery and we arrived in Florida on Sunday. Yesterday, going through the mail that was not forwarded, I found a DVC pamphlet and realized that if I want to add on 64 points at BLT I have to buy immediately. I called my guide and he is on the cruise so I was connected to the guy who covers for him. Anyway, I called around 12:00, and the covering guy said he would be in a meeting till 1:00, and then call back in the order he received the calls. I didn't hear back. He might have said they have meetings all week. I understand the timing is terrible and they are all really busy, but should I call back the covering guy today, or call the general number and try to get someone else? Can I do that? Does anyone know what the general number is? I am wondering if I'm at the bottom of the list because he is not my guide and won't get the commission, if they even do get commission.

DH has minimal interest (translated to none) in BLT, so there is no way he would ever consider buying 100 points. Since I was able to get him to agree to the two-night add on, I don't want to lose this opportunity. What would you do?

The reality is the Guides will spend their time with the large points purchasers first, then get around to you. I would call the main DVC sales number and ask to speak to a manager.

As long as you leave a message with your guide or his back-up that you want to add-on 64 points, before the cut-off, they will honor your request. The message acts as a time stamp for your purchase.

Your DH may change his mind about BLT once you tour the models. I can honestly say they left a very positive impression on me, even more so on my wife. She would even consider adding on at BLT in the future, she liked it that much.

What did you like the most? What impressed you the most? :wizard:

What did you like the most? What impressed you the most? :wizard:

Use of space, the extra bathroom in the one bedroom, sleep chair and sofa in living area, kitchen layout and finishes, LCD tv's in units.

Dislikes were use of fluorescent light, shower and toilet in same room, deluge shower head (water boarding anyone), master bed seemed blah.

None of the dislikes would stop me from staying at BLT. The lighting is the way all future resorts are going to be lit. The shower has multiple heads, so I just won't use the deluge head. There are two bathrooms, instead of just one. As long as the bed is comfy at night, that is what is most important.

being able on rare occasions to see wishes from my room....
okay this won't happen every year.

mostly just being able to walk over to the MK.

the rooms were nice - definitely liked the extra counter space.

and the new thing to store stuff in - is really nice. won't have to leave everything out to see what I have.:lmao: :rolleyes1

they have one in the studio kitchennett - and 2 in the 1-bedroom kitchen.

didn't like the tiny table in the studio part.

also loved with the 1-bedroom - you might be able to watch the firework from both the bedroom and livingroom and there for the kitchen too.

these room design are definitely set up to see the fireworks or lake view.

op - call the general number and ask them to verify that you will get your 64 points

sorry it took so long

dvc use to have their phone number listed on the dvc site for sales

now they have this one
call 877-287-3797

800-800-9100 is the old number.

this is general sales - not your guide

The 877 number isn't Disney. Use the 800 number.

I called the 1-800-800-9100 ph. number, and got thru to a live person. They even went and got my guide and put her on the phone!!! Thanks so much to my Disboard friends!!!:thumbsup2 Well, I must confess, I do hate myself for paying retail. I didn't get any gift, no bag, no lithograph, nothing. I also hate being pushed towards a deadline. In the end, they got me! I didn't even get a chance to see the model!!:sad2: I only purchased 30 pts. to subsidize my Vero Beach contract!:rotfl2: I sure hope I like the Bay Lake Towers!

I hope so too. If you don't you will never admit it, :goodvibes most members don't. :confused3

DW and I were absolutely not interested in BLT add on:confused3 ! Really, other then the location, didn't see the big deal,Thought the Ultra Contemporary look was just not us  ....THEN we did the tour, WOW were we ever wrong! PLEASE do not base opinion on pics of it like we did :headache: . Being there and seeing the use of space and just a very good feel for the area was very relaxing, very nice.
We just LOVE BWV and have decided to add on there due to being more $$ friendly, but BLT was very nice if we had the extra money I would add 100 pts there.pirate:

Well, I never could find the DVC Sales Office phone number, I even googled it. Anyway, today around 1 p.m. I called member services and was on hold for 25 minutes. The CM who finally answered was very sweet and transferred me over, but before she did, I asked for the number in case I got disconnected or something. It is 407-827-4911. It's a good thing I did get the number because as soon as someone answered, she said "I'll put you through to Q & A" and then I got another recording. I left my name and cell phone number, but realized I forgot to leave my ID # as requested, so I called back to do so, and got a different CM and when I told her "guide on vacay, no call back from covering guide, etc.," she said, "No problem, I'll get you a guide." In 30 seconds Ricardo Florez came on the line and couldn't have been nicer. He asked me how many points (64), financing or no, (no) then my credit card info. The whole transaction, once I finally got to a guide, took less than ten minutes. DH said he couldn't believe what a hassle it was. If someone on this end is willing to spend over $7000, then you'd think there should be someone on the other end to take it. The whole thing was crazy, but I am happy I finally got my points.

I have one more question. Are they still giving developer points, as well? Will I get them? I forgot to ask.

Also, I did get a call back from Q & A today, but by then, I had already spoken to Carlos. It's a good thing I'm not depending on the covering guide, because that call back to the home phone still hasn't come 31 hours later.

Congrats!! I too purchased yesterday, had a real hard time getting thru to a live person!! My guide told me she would be off, be she must have changed her schedule, they put her right on the phone!! Anything under 100 pts, I don't think qualify for developer points. I only bought 30 pts., I did ask about a bag, lithograph, something!! My guide said there was nothing to give me!!!:sad2: Oh well......:dance3:
