We are taking our DD to WDW for her 3rd BD in September. Her actual birthday is towards the end of our trip. I am feeling guilty but I did not buy her a park ticket. She will technically be 2 for most of the trip and does not require a ticket.

I am also not including her on the dining plan. My DH and I just plan on letting the kids eat off of our plates or just ordering off the menu if needed. (we are taking our DS1.5 too).

Does anyone feel like this is cheating? I really don't. But I don't want to get stopped at the gates and be embarrassed.

Am I worrying for nothing? Do they really "ID" at the gates???

My understanding is that if the child is under 3 on Day 1 of your trip, she's considered under 3 for the duration. I'm sure someone will correct that if I'm wrong!

I'm fairly Rules Are Rules about such things and I think you're just fine. :) I believe that Disney's policy is "age on first day" because they *know* kids have birthdays at the parks.

I have never heard of anyone having their 3 year old carded at the parks. :rotfl:

On a side note, that picture of you and Mickey looks like y'all just got married. :) I swear that pose is in my wedding album. :lovestruc

If your DD is two on the day you check in than she is considered two for the duration of your trip. Just like when she is nine and if you go around her birthday she will be considered nine during your entire trip.

We just went in May literally three weeks before my youngest turned three. Despite him being the size of a four year old we were not questioned or asked to provide ID for him. I wouldn't worry about it and enjoy having that one last trip without having to pay for her. :)

Nope, this pic was actually taken this past November. DH is 32 and I'm 31. We get the honeymoon question all the time! My DH looks very young so I guess I look young when I'm with him:) I know I will appreciate this when I'm 50:)

I am so happy to hear this! This is the one thing that I have been worried about. Like, I literally lose sleep over these types of things! The only other thing I was worried about is putting her in a "I'm 3 Today" t shirt and having someone at the gate or at a restaurant question us. I wasn't aware of the "same age as the day you get there" rule. Awesome!:thumbsup2

No, silly, I mean it looks like you and MICKEY just got hitched! :rotfl:

make sure to get her a birthday button when you check in too. we are going for my sone 3rd bday as well. we arrive 3 days before his bday. but i plan to get that pin right away. the whole week will be his birthday.

Duh!!!!!!!!! I wasn't even paying attention because I have another pic of me and DH with Mickey and we are always having to tell people how old we are! I feel silly. I have to say I wouldn't mind being married to the Mouse. I bet I would get into the parks for free!!!:rotfl2:

That's what I plan on doing too! This is her birthday trip and I want to make every day special! I'm not going to worry about it! When are y'all going to be there?

We are also going with both my DD. We will be celebrating one of my DD turning 3 also :woohoo:
She will still be 2yo when we visit WDW. We are having a b-day dinner at Chef Mickey's and even though she is under 3yo, I decided to pay and get her her own meal, plus we plan to order a cake.

Are you on the dining plan? And did you buy her park tickets too?

We did not do the dining plan. We are staying at a condo off site (Windsor Hills). I did not buy my DD a ticket, she will not be 3yo anytime during our WDW visits. I agree with whichever poster said, if your DD is not 3yo on your 1st of how many visits to WDW, I would not buy her a ticket.

We did the exact same thing you are worried about.

My DD was turning three on the last day of our trip. I did not buy her a ticket. I did not put her on the DDP. I did get her a birthday pin and celebrated her birthday while at the MK and at most meals. No one said anything. I did explain that her birthday was really at the end of the week while visiting restaurants.

You should not have a problem. Have fun!!

I know I'm being paranoid. Thanks for the reassurance!!
