My boyfriend and I have had a trip planned for this December since Feb when the 40% off was offered. We have all the stuff you need for a trip (anything and everthing you can pack) but the actual trip has not been paid off. My boyfriend just changed jobs and the money situation doesnt look as good as it did. He can get the time off for the trip but the money is not 100% sure. As of now I dont have airfare and tickets paid for, just the room. He keeps saying that the money will come. I am just not so sure!!!!!

So should I keep planning the trip or wait till next year? I can keep all the bought stuff put away for one year (Great underbed bags from Big Lots) and the reservations can be cancelled. I dont want to go and have to penny pinch the whole trip, but you never know what might come up next year!

So, what would you do?

If you wait to go until next year, just think of all the money you can save up towards your trip....that would mean more shopping at DTD to me! :thumbsup2

I did that years ago when money was tight. My GF and I did not have a good time, as we kept watching every cent. and I think that was probably the beginning of the end for us, we went our seperate ways a few months after the trip!:sad1:

I would not go this year for sure. The trip is a luxury that can be put off until funds are available and you will have a much more fun vacation not worrying about money. Do a little local trip (like a long weekend) instead that you can afford and then enjoy your disney trip NEXT year.

Well, I would wait as well or make it for early next year as you will then have your Income Tax $ to spend.
Also consider going when they offer the Free DDP
This will help cut costs.

But then again, you can buy some things before you go, like we did and we spent only a little while we were there.

I would wait until next year as well. During December, you and your boyfriend might like to take advantage of all the free goings-on in and around your community. That way, you'll get in the holiday spirit and be saving lots of $$ for next year. You might also consider forgoing expensive holiday gifts to each other and putting that money in your Disney fund so that you know you'll have enough and not have to watch every penny so closely. Cheers!

I would wait! If you are really unsure and dont have the money put away right now then wait it out... Its always better to be prepared & you will have a much better time knowing what you can and cant afford...

Another special will come out for you to save & remember everything happens for a reason... :goodvibes

I would wait also. It would be more fun not having to watch money.

But then again, maybe by some miracle everything will work...

OK I cancelled my trip and all my dining reservations. The lady at the DRC was super nice and sympathetic. Hopefully the times I had (really good ones since I did it 165 days out) went to someone who really wanted them. When the travel agent sends me my deposit back then I am putting one down for Dec 08. At least I dont go around worrying all the time now. It has really been like a huge weight lifted off me. We did decide that if the money that he was expecting comes in then we will pay off the room and buy our annual passes now (planning on a 16 day instead of 12 days now!!!!).

OH well! Now he has to hear me talk about Disney for anothe whole year!!!!

Just wait and then experience the magic two-fold. Save the $$$ just so you won't have to penny pinch...it's not fun if you have to be very careful of the money situation...I know it seems like forever, but forever is only once you get to heaven:) Blessings to you with prayers that you will make the right decision:)
